Qaem Shahr ( fa, قائم‌شهر, also Romanized as Qā’em Shahr; formerly known as Shāhi ( fa, شاهی) is a city and capital of Qaem Shahr County, Mazandaran Province, Iran. At the 2016 census, its population was 247,953. Originally known as Aliyabad, the name Ŝâhi (Shahi) was used until the Iranian Revolution in 1979 when the city acquired its current name. The city is situated north-east of Tehran; southeast of Babol; and south west of Sari which is the capital of Mazandaran province. In 1951, Qa'em Shahr's population was around 18,000, growing to 123,684 in 1991. The city is where the North Iranian railway quits the fertile plains of Mazandaran to cross the highest mountain range of the Middle East, the Alborz. Qaem Shahr County
Qaem Shahr County ( fa, شهرستان قائم‌شهر; also Qa'em Shahr and Ghaemshahr) is in Mazandaran province, Iran. The capital of the county is the city of Qaem Shahr. At the 2006 census, the county's population was 293,721 in 79,707 households. The following census in 2011 counted 320,741 people in 97,552 households. At the 2016 census, the county's population was 309,199 in 102,950 households, by which time Kiakola District had been separated from the county to form Simorgh County. The city was previously known as Aliabad. With the Pahlavi dynasty, the city changed its name to Shahi in honor of Reza Shah, who was born in Alasht, a village close by. The county has been renamed to Qaem Shahr after the 1979 revolution. Maysam Baou ( fa, میثم بائو, born 19 September 1983) is a retired Iranian football player. Club career He started to shine when Shamushak was promoted to Persian Gulf Cup in 2003–04 season and moved to Esteghlal where he stayed for three seasons and became known after Tehran derby in 2004–05 season. He had an unsuccessful in UAE where he moved back to Iran and Rah Ahan halfway through. He moved to Aboomoslem the season after. He moved to Persepolis in summer 2009 and spending one season in Persepolis. In 2010, he moved to Shahrdari Tabriz and was one of the key players of the team in two seasons. Behdad Salimi Kordasiabi ( fa, بهداد سلیمی كردآسیابی, born 8 December 1989) is former Iranian heavyweight weightlifter. He won gold medals at the 2012 Olympics, 2010–2018 Asian Games, 2010 and 2011 World Championships and 2009–2012 Asian Championships.
