Quintana is a town in Brazoria County, Texas, Brazoria County, Texas, United States. Its population was 56 at the 2010 census. Geography Quintana is located in southern Brazoria County at , on Quintana Beach along the Gulf of Mexico. It is bordered by the city of Surfside Beach, Texas, Surfside Beach to the northeast, across the entrance to Freeport Harbor, and by the city of Freeport, Texas, Freeport to the southwest in the area of Bryan Beach. The Intracoastal Waterway on the northwest separates Quintana from the main portion of Freeport. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town of Quintana has a total area of , of which are land and , or 67.87%, are covered by water. Brazosport College (BC) is a public community college in Lake Jackson, Texas. The college was opened in 1968 and offers primarily associate degrees and some bachelor's degrees. Brazosport Facts
The ''Brazosport Facts'' is the largest daily newspaper for Brazoria County, Texas, a part of the Greater Houston area. The newspaper is owned by Southern Newspapers Inc., and began in 1913. History The paper was started by printer Roy Ruffin as the ''Freeport Facts'' months after the 1912 founding of Freeport, Texas by the Freeport Sulphur Company. One year later, the paper was acquired by C.P. Kendall, Sr. who also owned newspapers in Port Aransas, and the '' Angleton Times'' in Angleton. A 1932 Freeport hurricane destroyed the ''Facts'' building and killed 40 people.
