Quiet Ferocity
''Quiet Ferocity'' is the third studio album by Australian indie rock band the Jungle Giants, released on 7 July 2017 through Amplifire Music. The album peaked at number 11 on the ARIA Charts, becoming the band's highest charting album. Frontman Sam Hales said "For ''Quiet Ferocity'' we found a studio close to home and treated it like a job, clocking on and off everyday, and because I was producing it as well everything was quicker – there was no middle man. There was a certain flow to it, it's like we found our tempo, the particular speed we like to work at." Hales later added "We were so excited to get this record out because we'd been sitting on it for a couple of months." The album was support by a national tour between August and September 2017. At the AIR Awards of 2018, the album won Best Independent Album or EP. At the 2018 Queensland Music Awards, the album won Album of the Year. The Jungle Giants
The Jungle Giants are an Australian indie rock band from Brisbane, Queensland, who formed in 2011. The band have released four full-length albums and two EPs. Their fourth studio album, ''Love Signs'', was released on 23 July 2021. Career 2011–2012: Early years and EPs All four members of The Jungle Giants attended Mansfield State High School in Mansfield, Brisbane. Singer-Songwriter-Guitarist, Sam Hales and Cesira Aitken (Lead Guitarist) played in one band and, bassist, Andrew Dooris and Keelan Bijker (Drummer) in another. After completing school in 2009, Hales worked two jobs to fund a debut self-titled EP, which was recorded with local producer, Yanto Browning at Airlock Studios in January 2011. Hales contributed drums, as well as vocals and guitar on the EP, with Aitken on guitar and Dooris on bass, before recruiting Bijker to complete the band. AIR Awards Of 2018
The AIR Awards of 2018 is the twelfth annual Australian Independent Record Labels Association Music Awards (generally known as the AIR Awards) and was an award ceremony at Queen's Theatre Adelaide, Australia on Thursday 26 July 2017. In 2018, the Outstanding Achievement Award was introduced. The award recognises an individual or group who has made a significant and lasting contribution to the Australian Independent Music Community. In an AIR Awards first, the award for ''Best Independent Album or EP'' was a tie this year, with both Methyl Ethel and The Jungle Giants being announced as winners. Gramophone Record
A phonograph record (also known as a gramophone record, especially in British English), or simply a record, is an analog sound storage medium in the form of a flat disc with an inscribed, modulated spiral groove. The groove usually starts near the periphery and ends near the center of the disc. At first, the discs were commonly made from shellac, with earlier records having a fine abrasive filler mixed in. The iTunes Store is a digital media store operated by Apple Inc. It opened on April 28, 2003, as a result of Steve Jobs' push to open a digital marketplace for music. ''The Music'', (formerly known as and now incorporating ''Drum Media)'', is an online Australian music magazine. It previously existed as a street press devoted to long-form music journalism and commentary, music news, and artist interviews. In its printed form, it was based in Sydney, NSW and distributed throughout Sydney, Wollongong, Newcastle and Canberra, and surrounding areas. The magazine changed its name to ''The Music'' (incorporating Drum Media) in 2013, following the merge with two other magazines, Brisbane's ''Time Off'' and Melbourne's ''Inpress'', owned by Street Press Australia.
