Quetta Gladiators In 2017
The Quetta Gladiators is a franchise cricket team that represents Quetta in the Pakistan Super League. They were one of the five teams that had a competition in the 2017 Pakistan Super League. The team was captained by Sarfraz Ahmed, and coached by Moin Khan. The team was mentored by Viv Richards. They finished on second position after winning four matches from their eight matches in the PSL 2017. They finished runners-up for the second time in a row after losing the final against Peshawar Zalmi. Squad Kumar Sangakkara and Grant Elliott were released by Quetta just a few days before the PSL transfer window came to an end in September 2016. Sangakara was signed by Karachi Kings while Grant Elliot joined Lahore Qalandars. Quetta retained 10 players in advance of the 2017 Pakistan Super League players draft and signed eight during the draft. Quetta Gladiators (Urdu, Balochi: ; Pashto: کویټه ګلیډیټرز) is a Pakistani professional Twenty20 cricket franchise that competes in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). They play most home games at the 27,000-capacity Gaddafi Stadium. The Gladiators won and became the champions in PSL 2019. The team is nominally based in Quetta, the provincial capital of Balochistan, Pakistan. The franchise was established in 2015 as a result of the formation of PSL by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The team's homeground is Bugti Stadium. The team is captained by Sarfaraz Ahmed and coached by former Pakistani wicket-keeper Moin Khan and Azam Khan is the team's manager. 2017 Pakistan Super League Players Draft
The Player Draft for the 2nd season of the Pakistan Super League was held at Dubai on 19 October 2016. A total of 414 players, including Pakistani and foreign cricketers, were divided into five different categories: Platinum, Diamond, Gold, Silver and Emerging. The salary-spending cap for a franchise was US$1.2 million, including the signing of players, coaches and support staff. Each team was allowed to pick eight foreign and 12 domestic players in a squad of up to 20. Player contracts and salaries Each player who participates in the PSL is categorized in a group according to their "value", from Platinum class players at the top end through to Emerging class players at the bottom. Umar Amin (born 16 October 1989) is a Pakistani international cricketer. Amin made his One Day International debut in the opening match of the 2010 Asia Cup against Sri Lanka. Amin was also named in the squad for Pakistan's two-match test series against Australia, held in England.
