Queenstown Public Library
Queenstown Public Library is one of the 26 public libraries established by the National Library Board of Singapore. It was the first full-time Branch Library to be built by the National Library in its plan to decentralise home reading services. It pioneered several firsts amongst Branch Libraries, including becoming the first fully air-conditioned Branch in 1978, computerising its loan services in 1987, and lending video cassettes in 1997. It was refurbished in 2003. The building plans were approved by Mrs Hedwig Anuar, the then-Director of the National Library. Building construction began in November 1968 and with its completion, the building was handed over to the National Library on 26 December 1969. Ghim Moh
Ghim Moh is a neighbourhood located in Queenstown, Singapore, Queenstown, Singapore. The estate consists of 28 blocks. Facilities There were a few List of schools in Singapore, schools located within the estate, Ghim Moh Primary School, which has merged with New Town Primary in 2008 and Ghim Moh Secondary School, which has also merged with Jin Tai Secondary School to form Clementi Woods Secondary School since 2007. Tanjong Pagar Group Representation Constituency
The Tanjong Pagar Group Representation Constituency is a five-member Group Representation Constituency (GRC) in Central and Western Singapore. The five divisions consists: Buona Vista, Queenstown, Moulmein-Cairnhill, Tanjong Pagar-Tiong Bahru and Henderson-Dawson. The current Members of Parliament are Indranee Rajah, Chan Chun Sing, Joan Pereira, Eric Chua and Alvin Tan from the People's Action Party (PAP). Koo Tsai Kee
Koo Tsai Kee (; born 29 November 1954) is a Singaporean associate professor and former politician. He was a Member of Parliament from 1991 to 2011, representing the Tiong Bahru division under the Tanjong Pagar Group Representation Constituency (Tanjong Pagar GRC). Education Koo was educated in Raffles Institution. He holds a Bachelor of Surveying with first class honours from the universities of Newcastle and New South Wales. Queenstown, Singapore
Queenstown is a planning area and satellite residential town situated on the south-westernmost fringe of the Central Region of Singapore. It borders Bukit Timah to the north, Tanglin to the northeast, Bukit Merah to the east and southeast, as well as Clementi to the northwest and west. Pasir Panjang
Pasir Panjang is an area located at the southern part of Queenstown in Singapore. Kent Ridge Park is a topographical feature which runs adjacent to Pasir Panjang. History Pasir Panjang Road, which once hugged the coastline, was laid down as far as the Jurong River by John Turnbull Thomson by 1850. Thomson was Government Surveyor of Singapore from 1841 to 1853. In 1910, the Government took over the opium industry and a state-owned factory was established at Pasir Panjang. In February 1942, the Battle of Pasir Panjang took place here. This was one of Singapore's last major battle between the Japanese and the British armed forces. The Japanese victory resulted in the Fall of Singapore. Dover, Singapore
Dover is a relatively small neighbourhood of Singapore, located in Queenstown. It is bordered by Ghim Moh to the north, Kent Ridge to the south and southeast, one-north and Queenstown to the east, Commonwealth and Holland Village to the northeast Clementi to the west and West Coast to the southwest.
