Queensland Investment Corporation
QIC (Queensland Investment Corporation) is a Government owned investment company owned by the Queensland Government. It was founded on 1 July 1991 pursuant to the ''Queensland Investment Corporation Act 1991'' to serve the long-term investment responsibilities of the Queensland Government. As of 30 September 2008, the organisation converted from a statutory Government owned corporation (GOC) to a company GOC and was renamed QIC Limited (QIC). QIC has now grown into a leading long-term specialist manager in alternatives. Assets QIC has investments in both Australia and the United States. Most of its shopping mall investments are through a 49% shareholding in a joint venture with Forest City Enterprises. In 2017, QIC reached an agreement to buy Forest City's interest in six of FC's eleven mall investments and an option to buy four others, excluding Charleston Town Center Mall in Charleston, WV. Noosa Civic is a shopping centre located in Noosa on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia. Major stores include Woolworths and Big W and the centre includes over 8,000 square metres of specialty retail stores. The development commenced construction in 2005 and stage one, consisting of 30,000 square metres of retail and commercial development in four precincts was opened in October 2006. Some controversy occurred to opponents of the development, complaining the development was approved on rare ecological wildlands and that a large-scale shopping centre detracted from what they claimed were Noosa's village-type ideals of local community. Short Pump Town Center is an open-air shopping mall located in the Short Pump census-designated place (CDP) of unincorporated Henrico County, Virginia on West Broad Street (U.S. Route 250), approximately west of I-64, exit 178A/B. Ridge Hill, formerly known as Westchester's Ridge Hill is a mixed-use lifestyle center located between Interstate 87 and the Sprain Brook Parkway in Yonkers, New York. Ballston Quarter, formerly known as Ballston Common Mall, originally opened as Parkington Shopping Center, was one of the first major suburban shopping centers in the Washington, D.C., area.
