Queen Savang Vadhana Memorial Hospital () or Somdej Phra Boromma Ratchathewi Na Si Racha Hospital is a hospital located in Si Racha District, Chonburi Province, Thailand. It is a hospital operated by the Thai Red Cross Society. It has a CPIRD Medical Education Center which trains doctors of the Faculty of Medicine, Burapha University. It is an affiliated teaching hospital of the Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University. History Following a visit to Bang Phra to recover from illness in 1898, Queen Savang Vadhana saw the lack of provision of medical services to citizens in the local area and ordered the construction of a small hospital to be located close by to her majesty's residence, next to the sea. The Thai Red Cross Society ( th, สภากาชาดไทย; ) is a major humanitarian organisation in Thailand, providing services as part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. The Faculty of Medicine, Burapha University () is the first medical school in Eastern Thailand, located in Mueang Chonburi District, Chonburi Province. It is part of the group of Health Science Faculties of Bangsaen Campus. History Funding was allocated in 1994 in a proposal to expand the 'Burapha University Health Sciences Center' into a university hospital, along with setting up a new faculty for Medicine specifically. The Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, the second oldest medical school in Thailand, was established in 1947 in accordance with the wishes of King Ananda Mahidol to educate a sufficient number of medical doctors to satisfy the public's demands.
