Lucas Martínez Quarta (born 10 May 1996) is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Serie A club Fiorentina and the Argentina national team. Club career On 5 October 2020, Martínez Quarta signed a five-year contract with Serie A club Fiorentina. On 7 March 2021, he scored his first goal in a 3–3 draw against Parma. On 26 October 2023, he netted his first goal in European competitions and provided an assist in a 6–0 victory over Čukarički in the Europa Conference League. On 3 June 2024, he extended his contract with the club until 2028. International career On 5 September 2019, Martínez Quarta debuted for the Argentina national team in a friendly 0–0 draw against Chile, playing the full 90 minutes. Roberto Quarta (born May 10, 1949) is an Italian-born American businessman. He is the chairman of Smith & Nephew, and the chairman of WPP plc since June 2015. Early life Roberto Quarta was born on May 10, 1949 in Italy. He emigrated to the United States at the age of 15, and he spent the rest of his adolescence in Brooklyn, New York City, where his father was a tailor. Quarta graduated from the College of the Holy Cross. Career His initial industrial management career was with BTR plc, where he rose to serve on the board. In 1993 he moved to become chief executive of BBA Group, where he executed strong performance improvement and portfolio change, producing a major increase in shareholder value. He later became chair of BBA (which was renamed BBA Aviation following the demerger of Fiberweb in November 2006), stepping down in 2007. Nicola Quarta (23 September 1927 – 27 June 2020) was an Italian politician. Quarta was born in Campi Salentina on 23 September 1927, and later served as its mayor for two terms. Throughout his political career, Quarta was affiliated with Christian Democracy. He was a prefect until 1970, when he left office to run for the newly established Apulia regional council. Quarta was President of Apulia between 1978 and 1983.
