Bobby Quarry
Robert Neil Quarry (born November 20, 1962), known as Bobby Quarry, is a former boxer and the youngest brother of James, Jerry and Mike Quarry. Bobby Quarry was born in Lynwood, California, and is the last surviving brother of the four Quarry brothers, three of whom were noted boxers. He began boxing professionally in 1982. Bobby Quarry's biggest bout was in the early 1990s, when he faced Tommy Morrison in a Las Vegas match televised on ESPN. Quarry was cut on the chin and knocked out by a Morrison right hand at 1:34 of the second round, the count reaching three with Quarry on his back before referee Richard Steele called a halt to the contest. Bobby had hoped to upset Morrison, as the fight was Morrison's first comeback bout after getting knocked out by WBO heavyweight champion Ray Mercer less than four months earlier. Jerry Quarry
Jerry Quarry (May 15, 1945 – January 3, 1999), nicknamed "Irish" or "The Bellflower Bomber", was an American professional boxer. During the peak of his career from 1968 to 1971, Quarry was rated by ''The Ring'' magazine as the most popular fighter in the sport. His most famous bouts were against Muhammad Ali. Accumulated damage from lack of attention to defense against larger men at the top level, no head guard sparring, and attempted comebacks in 1977, 1983 and 1992 resulted in Quarry developing an unusually severe case of dementia pugilistica. Unable to perform everyday tasks, dependent on his family, and with the fortune he had earned frittered away, Quarry died at 53 years old. Michael Wayne Quarry (March 4, 1951 – June 11, 2006) was an American light heavyweight boxer. He had a record of 63–13–6 including 17 knockouts during his career. Mike bested such fighters as Jimmy Dupree. Mike Quarry was born in Bakersfield, California. He began boxing at the age of 8 and obtained his license to fight as an amateur at 17. He tried to emulate his older brother Jerry Quarry, a renowned heavyweight fighter . "At one time Michael said, 'They might as well put on my epitaph: Here lies Jerry Quarry's little brother.'" After a win over title challenger Jimmy Dupree, he had his one chance at a title shot in 1972, when he went up against Bob Foster for the World Boxing Council and World Boxing Association light heavyweight crowns. Robert Quarry
Robert Walter Quarry (November 3, 1925 – February 20, 2009) was an American actor, known for several prominent horror film roles. Life and career Quarry was born in Santa Rosa, California, the son of Mable (née Shoemaker) and Paul Quarry, a doctor. His grandmother was an actress. He left school at the age of 14 to pursue a career in radio. During World War II in November 1943, Quarry joined the United States Army, where he formed a theatrical troupe. After the war he acted again, first for RKO and then for MGM. His films include ''Count Yorga, Vampire'' (1970), its sequel ''The Return of Count Yorga'' (1971), and '' Dr. Phibes Rises Again'' (1972), in which he played alchemist Dr. Biederbeck pitted against Vincent Price's Phibes in a race to find the mythical elixir of eternal life.
