Alf Quantrill
Alfred Edward Quantrill (22 January 1897 – 19 April 1968) was an English footballer. Born in Rawalpindi, Punjab (India), Punjab, British India where his father was based on military service, he played on either wing and appeared four times for the England national football team, England national team. Quantrill played non-league football for Boston Swifts until being signed by Derby County F.C., Derby County in 1914. Quantrill helped Derby gain promotion to Division One in his first season at the club, but his career was soon interrupted by the World War I, First World War. He served as a member of the Derbyshire Yeomanry, but was sent home after developing malaria in Salonika. Quantrill returned to health and retained his place in the Derby team when league football resumed. In March 1920 he made his debut for England national football team, England against Wales national football team, Wales, a 2–1 defeat. Cal Quantrill
Cal Paul Quantrill (born February 10, 1995) is a Canadian professional baseball pitcher for the Cleveland Guardians of Major League Baseball (MLB). He played college baseball for Stanford University. He was selected in the first round of the 2016 Major League Baseball draft by the San Diego Padres. He made his MLB debut in 2019. He previously played for the Padres. Amateur career Quantrill was a four-time varsity letterman in baseball at Trinity College School in Port Hope, Ontario, and also lettered in hockey and volleyball. He was drafted by the New York Yankees in the 26th round of the 2013 Major League Baseball draft, but did not sign. He chose to attend Stanford University. In his freshman season, he made 17 starts for Stanford, including their game on opening day, becoming the first freshman to start opening day for Stanford since Mike Mussina in 1988. Malcolm Quantrill
Malcolm Quantrill (25 May 1931 – 22 September 2009) was a British architect, academic and architecture theorist. His best known books are ''The Environmental Memory – Man and Architecture in the Landscape of Ideas'' (1986) and ''Finnish Architecture and the Modernist Tradition'' (1998). He was a specialist in the history of the modern architecture of Finland. Paul Quantrill
Paul John Quantrill (born November 3, 1968) is a Canadian former professional baseball right-handed relief pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for 14 seasons, from 1992 to 2005; his longest tenure was six seasons with the Toronto Blue Jays. Quantrill appeared in 80 or more games five times, led his league in pitching appearances for four consecutive seasons, and did not walk more than 25 batters in a season from 1996 onwards. Career Quantrill was drafted in 1986 MLB draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 26th round, 660th overall, but did not sign. After three years at the University of Wisconsin he was drafted again, by the Boston Red Sox in the sixth round of the 1989 MLB draft, 161st overall, and made his major league debut on July 20, 1992. William Quantrill
William Clarke Quantrill (July 31, 1837 – June 6, 1865) was a Confederate guerrilla leader during the American Civil War. Having endured a tempestuous childhood before later becoming a schoolteacher, Quantrill joined a group of bandits who roamed the Missouri and Kansas countryside to apprehend escaped slaves. Later, the group became Confederate soldiers, who were referred to as "Quantrill's Raiders". It was a pro-Confederate partisan ranger outfit that was best known for its often brutal guerrilla tactics. Also notable is that the group included the young Jesse James and his older brother Frank James. Quantrill is often noted as influential in the minds of many bandits, outlaws and hired guns of the Old West as it was being settled. In May 1865, Quantrill was mortally wounded in combat by Union troops in Central Kentucky in one of the last engagements of the Civil War. He died of wounds in June.
