Quaestor Of The European Parliament
In the European Parliament, the quaestors are elected to oversee administrative and financial matters directly affecting Member of the European Parliament, members (MEPs) as well as other duties assigned to them by the Parliament's Rules of Procedure or the Bureau of the European Parliament. Five quaestors are elected among the MEPs for two and a half year-terms, i.e. half a parliamentary term. Election Quaestors are elected after the President of the European Parliament, President and Vice-President of the European Parliament, Vice-Presidents of the European Parliament. Rule 18 of the Rules of Procedure dictates that quaestors are elected by the same procedure as the Vice-Presidents, meaning that one or more single ballots are held until all five seats have been filled via either absolute majority (first two ballots) or relative majority (3rd ballot). European Parliament
The European Parliament (EP) is one of the legislative bodies of the European Union and one of its seven institutions. Together with the Council of the European Union (known as the Council and informally as the Council of Ministers), it adopts European legislation, following a proposal by the European Commission. The Parliament is composed of 705 members (MEPs). It represents the second-largest democratic electorate in the world (after the Parliament of India), with an electorate of 375 million eligible voters in 2009. Since 1979, the Parliament has been directly elected every five years by the citizens of the European Union through universal suffrage. Voter turnout in parliamentary elections decreased each time after 1979 until 2019, when voter turnout increased by eight percentage points, and rose above 50% for the first time since 1994. Agir, officially Agir, la droite constructive (; ), was a political party in France, established on 26 November 2017. The majority of its founding members were previously associated with the Constructive faction within the centre-right Republicans. The European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) is a soft Eurosceptic, anti- federalist political group of the European Parliament. The ECR is the parliamentary group of the European Conservatives and Reformists Party (ECR Party) European political party (formerly known as the ''Alliance of Conservatives and Reformists in Europe'' (2016–2019) or ''Alliance of European Conservatives and Reformists'' (2009–2016), but also includes MEPs from four other European parties and thirteen MEPs without European party affiliation. Law and Justice ( pl, Prawo i Sprawiedliwość , PiS) is a right-wing populist and national-conservative political party in Poland. Its chairman is Jarosław Kaczyński. It was founded in 2001 by Jarosław and Lech Kaczyński as a direct successor of the Centre Agreement after it split from the Solidarity Electoral Action (AWS). It managed to win the 2005 parliamentary and presidential elections, after which Lech became the president of Poland. Karol Adam Karski (born 13 May 1966 in Warsaw) is a Polish politician, Quaestor of the European Parliament, and a former Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs. Gilles Boyer (born 4 July 1971) is a French politician of the Horizons party who was elected as a Member of the European Parliament in 2019. Early life and education Born to two university professors, Boyer spent his childhood in Sèvres and in Ville-d'Avray in the Hauts-de-Seine region. He obtained a master's degree in law from Paris Nanterre University and a postgraduate degree in public law in 1993 from Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University. Progressive Alliance Of Socialists And Democrats
The Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats (S&D) is the political group in the European Parliament of the Party of European Socialists (PES). The Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats was officially founded as a Socialist Group on 29 June 1953 which makes it the second oldest political group in the European Parliament after Renew Europe (Renew). It adopted its present-day name on 23 June 2009. Centre-left in orientation, the group mostly comprises social-democratic parties and is affiliated with the Progressive Alliance and Socialist International. The Nationalist Party ( mt, Partit Nazzjonalista, PN) is one of the two major contemporary political parties in Malta, along with the Labour Party. David Casa
David Casa (born 16 November 1968 in Valletta) is a Maltese politician and Member of the European Parliament. He is Malta's longest serving MEP, having served since June 2004. As a member of the Nationalist Party in Malta, he belongs to the European People's Party. Casa has been described by Politico as a key MEP for his work as co-rapporteur on the Social Climate Fund.
