Qoʻrgʻontepa District is a district of Andijan Region, Uzbekistan. The capital of the district is the city Qoʻrgʻontepa. The district was established on September 29, 1926. It has an area of and it had 222,100 inhabitants in 2022. Andijan Region
Andijan Region ( Uzbek: Andijon viloyati/Андижон вилояти, ئەندىجان ۋىلايەتى, russian: Андижанская область) is a region of Uzbekistan, located in the eastern part of the Fergana Valley in far eastern Uzbekistan. It borders with Kyrgyzstan ( Jalal-Abad and Osh Regions), Fergana Region and Namangan Region. It covers an area of 4,300 km2. The population is estimated to be around 3,253,528 (2022) thus making Andijan Region the most densely populated region of Uzbekistan. Qoʻrgʻontepa
Qoʻrgʻontepa ( uz, Qoʻrgʻontepa, Қўрғонтепа, russian: Кургантепа) is a small city and seat of Qoʻrgʻontepa District, in Andijan Region in eastern Uzbekistan. It is located roughly north of Osh, near the border with Kyrgyzstan. In 1989 it had a population of 19,565, and 30,800 in 2016. In 1976 Qo’rg’ontepa was granted city status. The city has a cotton factory, a tool factory and sewing factory. Uzbekistan Time
Uzbekistan time is the standard time in Uzbekistan; it is 5 hours ahead of UTC, UTC+05:00. The standard time uses no daylight saving time, though there has been constant debate whether to adopt it in order to increase leisure time. After the breakup of the Soviet Union there were two time zones in Uzbekistan. In the Soviet era most time zones were daylight time in the winter and double daylight time in the summer. The western part of the country observed Samarkand Time 5 or 6 hours ahead of UTC. The eastern part observed Tashkent Time 6 or 7 hours ahead of UTC. In 1991 the clocks did not move forward in the spring to maintain single daylight time only in the summer. That fall a unified time zone was adopted 5 hours ahead of UTC.
