History The QOC was formed in 1979 and was granted full recognition by the International Olympic Committee in 1980. Khalid Almohanedi
Khalid Salman Al-Muhannadi ( ar, خالد محمد سلمان المحري المهندي; born 5 April 1962) is a Qatari former footballer, playing and scoring in World Youth Championships, various Gulf Cups and the 1984 Summer Olympics. He was part of a golden generation of Qatari footballers in the eighties and nineties along with Mansoor Muftah, Ibrahim Khalfan, Mahmoud Soufi, Adel Khamis and many more. His most memorable matches include those against Brazil in the World Youth Championship (he scored a hat-trick) and against France at the 1984 Olympics. The 1984 AFC Asian Cup was the 8th edition of the men's AFC Asian Cup, a quadrennial international football tournament organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). The finals were hosted by Singapore between 1 December and 16 December 1984. The field of ten teams was split into two groups of five. Saudi Arabia won their first title, beating China in the final 2–0. Qualification 21 teams competed in qualifying for the 1984 AFC Asian Cup with the teams being separated into three groups of five teams and one group of six. The top two of each group would qualify through to the Asian Cup as they would join Singapore and Kuwait who automatically qualified. At the end of the qualifying, the remaining eight teams was filled in which included Saudi Arabia as they made their finals debut. Mohammad Alammari
Mohammed Al Ammari (born 10 December 1965) is a Qatari football coach and a former midfielder who played for Qatar in the 1984 Asian Cup. He also competed in the men's tournament at the 1984 Summer Olympics. He started off in Al Sadd's youth teams in 1977, before moving to their first team and quickly becoming a key player in 1983. He had to retire from playing football at the age of 26 due to injury, and started studying to be a coach. He trained Al Sadd's youth teams in 1999, and was also assistant coach on multiple occasions, to head coaches Rabah Madjer, Džemaludin Mušović, René Meulensteen and Bora Milutinović. After the departure of Milutinović, he took up the head coach position in October 2005. He was the head coach until May 2006.
