Qalandar (title)
Qalandar in Sufism is used as a title for some Sufi saints. Some people for whom the title is used are Lal Shahbaz Qalandar, Bu Ali Shah Qalandar, Shams Ali Qalandar, Rabia Basri and Qalander Baba Auliya. Lal Shahbaz Qalandar
Hazrat Sayyid Usman Marwandi, (1177 - 19 February 1274) popularly known as Lal Shahbaz Qalandar (), was a Sufi saint and poet of present-day Pakistan and Afghanistan. Lal Shahbaz Qalandar was born in Marwand, Sistan to a family from Baghdad. He eventually settled in Sindh and helped many people in converting to Islam and was revered by the local Sindhi population. Lal Shahbaz Qalandar had also been reputed for performing many miracles and was seen as a very holy figure in Sindh. The 19th century spiritual Sufi Manqabat ''Dama Dam Mast Qalandar'' is dedicated to Lal Shahbaz Qalandar and is widely popular in the sub-continent. Fakir ( ar, فقیر, translit=faḳīr or ''faqīr'') is an Islamic term traditionally used for Sufi Muslim ascetics who renounce their worldly possessions and dedicate their lives to the worship of God. They do not necessarily renounce all relationships and take vows of poverty, some may be poor and some may even be wealthy, but the adornments of the temporal worldly life are kept in perspective and do not detract from their constant dedication to God. In Sufism, the Majzoob or Majzub ( ar, مَجْذُوب, plural: مَجَاذِيبٌ ''majazib, majazeeb'') is a mystical station (haal) that the Muslim saint (wali) underwent in his journey within Islamic sufism to reach the posture (maqaam) of reacher ( wassil) and perfect man (al-Insān al-Kāmil). Mast Qalandar
''Dama Dam Mast Qalandar'' () is a spiritual Sufi qawwali written in the honour of the most revered Sufi saint of Sindh, Lal Shahbaz Qalandar (1177–1274) of Sehwan Sharif. The original poem was initially written by the 13th-century Sufi poet Amir Khusrow, then further modified by Bulleh Shah in the 18th century. It is said that this qawwali was adapted from the original prayer by Amir Khusrow, and was then modified completely by Bulleh Shah. Bulleh Shah gave an entirely different color to the qawwali, adding verses in praises of Shahbaz Qalandar and giving it a large tint of Sindhi culture. The poem includes a reference to the town of Sehwan, which is home to the Shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar. The word "Laal" can refer to Jhulelal as a young man, or his red dress. Qalandariyah
The Qalandariyyah ( ar, قلندرية), Qalandaris, Qalandars or Kalandars are wandering ascetic Sufi dervishes. The term covers a variety of sects, not centrally organized and may not be connected to a specific tariqat. One was founded by Qalandar Yusuf al-Andalusi of Andalusia, Spain. They were mostly in Iran, Central Asia, India and Pakistan. Starting in the early 12th century, the movement gained popularity in Greater Khorasan and neighbouring regions, including South Asia. Bu Ali Shah Qalandar
Sharafuddeen Bu Ali Shah Qalandar Panipati, renowned as Bu Ali Qalandar (1209–1324 CE), born in Panipat, Haryana, India, was a Qalandar and Sufi saint of the Owaisī Order, who lived and taught in India. His shrine or dargah (mausoleum) is at Bu Ali Shah Qalandar Dargah, Panipat, which is a place of pilgrimage. His real name was Sharfuddin but he is well known by his title Bu Ali Shah Qalandar.
