Qais Al-Zawawi
Qais bin ʿAbdul-Munʿim Az-Zawāwī ( ar, قَيْس بِن عَبْدُ ٱلْمُنْعِم ٱلزَّوَاوِي; 27 August 1935 – 11 September 1995) was the second foreign minister for the Sultanate of Oman, and later from 1982 served as Deputy Prime Minister for Economic and Financial affairs until his tragic death on September 11, 1995, in the Salalah accident, whilst in the car with His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, and his brother Dr Omar bin Abdul-Mun'im Al-Zawawi, the external liaison for the Sultan. Before returning to Oman, after the Sultan deposed his father in a bloodless coup, the deputy prime minister, Qais Al Zawawi studied in India and then moved to Dubai, where he set up the Pepsi-Cola Operations with Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the then Ruler of Dubai (1958–1990), and Sultan bin Ali Al Owais and Mohamed Yehia Zakaria, both prominent business men. Zawawi Mosque
The Zawawi Mosque ( ar, مَسْجِد عَبْدُ ٱلْمُنْعِم ٱلزَّوَاوِي, Masjid ʿAbdul-Munʿim Az-Zawāwī) is a mosque, located in Muscat, Oman. It was built by Omar Zawawi, a member of the Al Zawawi family, to commemorate the death of his father Abdul-Mun'im Al-Zawawi, and opened in 1985. It is notable for having the entirety of the Qur'an engraved on metal plates on its walls. There was also an older mosque by that name, built in 1906 and demolished in 2005. Mohamed Yehia Zakaria (born May 10, 1938) is an Emirati businessman of Egyptian origin. He is the longest-serving chief executive of the beverage industry in the Middle East. He is the co-founder and was chief executive of Dubai Refreshments (Pepsi), in Dubai, and institutionalized the soft drink industry in the Middle East. Education and career A graduate of Cairo University with a bachelor's degree in Commerce, Mohamed Zakaria arrived in Dubai in 1960 to gain work experience and then afterward, attend Michigan State University where he had been accepted for a MBA. His previous work in Egypt at the Government Accountancy Department, promoted him to explore an offer he had gotten by the late Sultan bin Ali Al Owais, a philanthropist, poet, businessman and former Minister of the UAE. Sheikh (pronounced or ; ar, شيخ ' , mostly pronounced , plural ' )—also transliterated sheekh, sheyikh, shaykh, shayk, shekh, shaik and Shaikh, shak—is an honorific title in the Arabic language.
