''q with Tom Power'' (previously known as ''q with Jian Ghomeshi'') is a Canadian arts magazine show produced by and airing on CBC Radio One, with syndication to public radio stations in the United States through Public Radio Exchange. The program mainly features interviews with prominent cultural and entertainment figures, though subjects and interviewees also deal with broader cultural topics such as their social, political and business aspects, as well as weekly panels on television/film and music on Mondays and Fridays respectively. Though not the highest-rated show on CBC Radio One ('' The Current'' and ''As It Happens'' hold that distinction), ''Q'' is the highest rated show in its timeslot in CBC history, surpassing even Peter Gzowski who previously hosted the second hour of '' Morningside'' during the slot. Elamin Abdelmahmoud is a Sudanese Canadian writer, culture and politics commentator, and podcast host based in Toronto, Ontario. He is best known as a culture writer for BuzzFeed and as host of ''Pop Chat'' and co-host of ''Party Lines'' with Rosemary Barton. In November 2022 the CBC announced that Abdelmahmoud will debut on January 30, 2023, as the host of '' Commotion'', a daily pop culture magazine show which will air after '' Q'' weekday mornings. Massey Hall
Massey Hall is a performing arts theatre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Opened in 1894, it is known for its outstanding acoustics and was the long-time hall of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. An intimate theatre, it was originally designed to seat 3,500 patrons, but after extensive renovations in the 1940s, it now seats up to 2,765. The Boxmasters is an American rock band founded in Bellflower, California, in 2007 by Academy Award-winning actor Billy Bob Thornton and J.D. Andrew. ''Sounds Like Canada'' was a Canadian radio program, which aired weekday mornings on CBC Radio One from 2002 to 2008. Until the end of May 2008, the program was hosted by the award-winning broadcaster Shelagh Rogers, and in the summers by a rotating series of guest hosts. The program was broadcast from Vancouver, and aired programming which covered cultural and human interest stories relevant to Canadians.
