The QMI Agency, a division of Quebecor Media, is an integrated news agency. Founded in 2008, it offers services to media customers in Quebec. Journalism QMI Agency engages in real-time news coverage for its subsidiaries and business partners. The clients include, among others, ''Le Journal de Montréal'', ''Le Journal de Québec'' , the '' 24H Montreal'' free newspaper and its various websites. QMI Agency has offices in Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec City. QMI Agency also offered services to various platforms of the Sun Media subsidiary, and, from 2011 to 2015, the Sun News Network. Quebecor Media Inc. is a Canadian media conglomerate that owns a wide array of media outlets, as well as an internet service provider. History In 1983 Quebecor purchased the Winnipeg Sun newspaper, which had been independently run. The newspaper was later sold to the Postmedia chain. In August 2000, Quebecor Media bought Vidéotron for CA$4.9 billion. In May 2001, the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) approved the transfer of broadcasting licenses from Vidéotron to Quebecor Media. ''24 Hours'' (french: 24 Heures) was a group of English-language and French-language free daily newspapers published in Canada. It was published in French in Montreal and Gatineau and in English in Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa, Toronto, and Vancouver. The Gatineau edition was discontinued in 2008 and the Calgary, Edmonton, and Ottawa editions ceased publication in 2013. Le Canal Nouvelles (LCN) is a Television in Canada, Canadian French language discretionary service 24-hour headline news channel owned by Groupe TVA, a division of Québecor. Its broadcasting headquarters are located in Montreal, Quebec. The channel, operated and programmed by the TVA Nouvelles division, was launched on September 8, 1997. Pierre Karl Péladeau (born 16 October 1961), also known by his initials PKP, is a Canadian businessman, billionaire and former politician. He was also the MNA for Saint-Jérôme.
