The Qatar Computing Research Institute (QCRI) in Doha, Qatar, is a nonprofit multidisciplinary computing research institute founded by the Qatar Foundation (QF) for Education, Science and Community Development in 2010. It is primarily funded by the Qatar Foundation, a private, non-profit organization that is supporting Qatar on its journey from carbon economy to knowledge economy. Jaideep Srivastava is a professor of Computer Science at the University of Minnesota. Ingmar Weber is a German computer scientist known for his research on Computational Social Science in which he uses online data to study population behavior. He was the Research Director for Social Computing at the Qatar Computing Research Institute, and is a Professor at Saarland University. He serves as editor-in-chief for EPJ Data Science.
