Péter Polt
Péter Polt (born 6 September 1955) is a Hungarian jurist, Chief Prosecutor of Hungary from 2000 to 2006 and since 2010. Biography He finished his secondary studies at the Veres Pálné Grammar School in Budapest. He graduated from the Faculty of Law of the Eötvös Loránd University in 1980. Besides that he participated in postgraduate courses in the University of Strasbourg and the Hague Academy of International Law. He worked for the National Institute of Criminology and Forensic. He became an assistant lecturer in the ELTE Department of Criminal Law in 1983. He was promoted to adjunct in 1985. He worked as a lawyer between 1985 and 1995 after completing the professional examination in 1992. He served as an advisor for the Ministry of Justice from 1990 to 1995. MTI (''Magyar Távirati Iroda'', literally "Hungarian Telegraphic Office") is a Hungarian news agency. One of the oldest news agencies in the world, it was founded in 1880. MTI was owned by MTI Rt., founded by the Parliament. The members of the Owners' Advisory Body are elected by the National Assembly of Hungary on four-year terms. It's a marketleader, and is considered by some sources to be a 'balanced and reliable source'. Still, it finds it difficult to raise subscriptions as most major Hungarian newspapers are foreign-owned. It must turn to the government for capital to overcome its technology deficit. The Christian Democratic People's Party ( hu, Kereszténydemokrata Néppárt, KDNP) is a right-wing Christian democratic political party in Hungary. Pál Schmitt (; born 1942) is a Hungarian Olympic fencer and politician who served as President of Hungary from 2010 until his resignation in 2012, following his academic misconduct controversy. Schmitt was a successful fencer in his youth, winning two gold medals at the Summer Olympics. Later, he served as an ambassador during the 1990s and was a Vice-President of the European Parliament from 2009 to 2010. After briefly serving as Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary in 2010, Schmitt was elected President of Hungary in a 263 to 59 vote in the National Assembly.
