Pyrgus Onopordi
The rosy grizzled skipper (''Pyrgus onopordi'') is a species of skipper (family Hesperiidae). Distribution and habitat This species can be found in central and southern Europe (Austria, Croatia, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, and Netherlands) and in North Africa (Algeria and Morocco). These butterflies inhabit flowery meadows, hot dry grassy meadows and streams at an elevation of above sea level. Description The wingspan of ''Pyrgus onopordi'' can reach 22–28 mm. Jules Pierre Rambur (21 July 1801 – 10 August 1870) was a French entomologist. Rambur was born in Chinon. He studied the insect fauna of Corsica and Andalusia. Pyrgus Carlinae
The carline skipper (''Pyrgus carlinae'') is a butterfly and a species of the skipper (family Hesperiidae). It is only found in southwestern areas of the Alps and can be an abundant species within this restricted range. As with most ''Pyrgus'' species, the carline skipper can be difficult to identify in the field. The dark brown upper forewings are marked with relatively small white markings but can usually be separated from the olive skipper (''Pyrgus serratulae'') by a c-shaped white mark close to the costa and the reddish-brown, not olive green, colour of the under hindwings, with a large square pale spot close to the margin.
