Putain Putain
"Putain Putain" (literally "''Whore whore"'' in French, though also a common curse word) is a 1983 song by Belgian rock group TC Matic. It was written by Arno Hintjens (known by the mononym Arno) and Jean-Marie Aerts. Released on the band's album ''Choco'' (1983), it was released as a single, with "Living On My Instinct" as the B-side. At the time, "Putain Putain" was a minor club hit in Belgium and France. It remains one of the band's biggest hits. Lyrics "Putain Putain" is a trilingual song, mostly sang in French, but with phrases in Dutch and English. The lyrics are mostly a series of non-connected, silly observations. The singer claims he is not a communist, cyclist, Catholic or a "footballiste" (association football player). He mentions he likes women and boys and ''"like I already said: I like dicks."''. Ray Cokes (born Raymond Christopher Cokes on 24 February 1958) is an English television presenter. Career Early life Ray's father was an officer in the Royal Navy, who was stationed at various navy bases around the world. When Ray was 15 the family permanently resettled back to Britain. At age 20, Ray moved to Belgium, where he took on various jobs, including DJ on a local radio station. This led to a job as a music presenter on Belgian national TV channel RTBF, where he presented the show ''Rox Box'' in 1982. With growing reputation, more music video shows followed on Sky Channel and Music Box. When MTV Europe launched in 1987 he became a video jockey mainly co-presenting alongside Marcel Vanthilt. Macaronic Songs
Macaronic language uses a mixture of languages, particularly bilingual puns or situations in which the languages are otherwise used in the same context (rather than simply discrete segments of a text being in different languages). Paul van Haver (; born 12 March 1985), better known by his stage name Stromae (), is a Belgian singer, rapper, songwriter and producer. He is mostly known for his music blending hip hop and electronic music. Nouvelle Vague (band)
Nouvelle Vague is a French cover band led by musicians Olivier Libaux and Marc Collin. Their name means "new wave" in French, and refers simultaneously to the French New Wave cinema movement of the 1960s, to the new wave music movement of the 1970s and 1980s, which provides many of the songs that the band covers, and to bossa nova (Portuguese for "new wave"), a musical style that the band frequently uses in its arrangements. The group's recordings and live performances have featured a large rotating cast of mostly female vocalists. Several of the artists who have performed with the band have also had successful solo careers, including Camille, Phoebe Killdeer, Mélanie Pain, and Nadéah Miranda.
