''Pussy'' is a used as a noun, an adjective, and—in rare instances—a verb in the English language. It has several meanings, as slang, as euphemism, and as vulgarity. The most common as a noun, it means "cat", as well as "coward or weakling". Pussy (horse)
Pussy (1831 – after 1848) was a Thoroughbred racehorse that won the 1834 Epsom Oaks. In a racing career that lasted from 1833 until 1837, Pussy started 25 times winning eight races. She initially raced under Thomas Cosby's name and was sold in 1835 to Lord Bentinck but raced under the Duke of Richmond's name. Pussy was retired to Bentinck's stud in 1837 but did not produce any noteworthy offspring. She was sold at auction in 1846, and her last foal was born in 1848. Background Pussy was bred by Mr. Lechmere Charlton and was foaled in 1831 near Ludford Park in Salop. Pussy's sire, Pollio, stood for 10 sovereigns at the Ludford Stud Farm near Ludlow and was described by the ''Racing Calendar'' as a "beautiful dark brown, without white, nearly 16 hands high, with very great bone and power." Pussy is a carbonated energy drink produced by Pussy Drinks Ltd in the UK. The drink and brand were created by Jonnie Shearer around Christmas 2004. In April 2013 part of the advertising campaign for Pussy was banned in the UK by the Advertising Standards Authority for being sexually explicit. Ingredients Pussy is made from carbonated water, sugar, grape juice, and a mixture of herbs and other fruit. Its caffeine content comes from guarana. Pussy is advertised as "100% natural" as it does not contain artificial additives. History Shearer came up with the idea of a natural energy drink after leaving university in 2004. Pussy Tourette is the stage name for an American drag queen, composer and singer. She is best known for her single "French Bitch", for which a music video/short film directed by Andrei Rozen was made and included in the film festival compilation DVD ''Boys' Shorts: The New Queer Cinema''. The song is a comedic, high camp dance track about the duplicitous title character who "stole my man, 'cause she felt the need to scratch an itch". Charles Alston "Pussy" Tebeau (February 22, 1870 – March 25, 1950) was a right fielder in Major League Baseball who played briefly for the Cleveland Spiders during the 1895 season. Tebeau batted and threw right-handed. He was born in Worcester, Massachusetts. Some report that he is the younger brother of George and Patsy Tebeau who also played in the major leagues, but that is unlikely. George and Patsy grew up in St. Louis while Charles was born and raised in Massachusetts. Tebeau's major league career only lasted two games in July 1895 because he had already signed with the Portland club in the New England League but failed to report. The Cleveland Spiders picked up and used Tebeau without knowledge of this. Portland's manager Frank Leonard saw his name in the newspaper (referred to as C.A. William "Pussy" Jones (1871/72 – 13 February 1940) was a rugby union centre who played club rugby for Cardiff and international rugby for Wales.
