Punggol Temporary Bus Interchange is a temporary bus interchange in Punggol New Town, Singapore, located adjacent to the Punggol MRT/LRT station. It was built to allow for easy dismantling when the site is redeveloped as part of a major commercial development when Punggol New Town is more developed. The bus interchange was officially opened on 30 November 2003. History Before the opening of the Punggol Bus Interchange, there is only one bus terminal at Punggol, which is the Punggol Road End Bus Terminal, which has been existed since the 1980s and is home to Bus Services 82 and 83. Bus Service 83 was shortened to Hougang Central Bus Interchange, and renumbered service 147 in June 1992, and Bus Service 147 was amended via Stamford Road, Selegie Road and Little India area skipping Victoria Street and Lavender Street. Sengkang (, ta, செங்காங்) is a planning area and residential town located in the North-East Region of Singapore. The town is the second most populous in the region, being home to 249,370 residents in 2020. Pasir Ris Bus Interchange is a bus interchange located at Pasir Ris in the eastern part of Singapore. It is located off Pasir Ris Drive 3, adjacent to Pasir Ris MRT station and near White Sands Shopping Centre. This bus interchange also serves as a pick-up/drop-off point for shuttle buses ferrying NSF men heading to the SAF Ferry Terminal for their shuttle ferry to Pulau Tekong. The Bus Contracting Model (BCM), formerly known as the Government Contracting Model, is a contracting model introduced by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) in 2014 for public buses in Singapore, implemented in 2016. The BCM is based on the Transperth model in Perth, Western Australia with quality incentive elements from London Buses. Under the BCM, local and overseas bus operators bid for contracts to operate public bus services on behalf of LTA. Sembawang Bus Interchange is a bus interchange located in Sembawang, Singapore. Opened on 20 November 2005, it provides hassle-free transfer to the nearby Sembawang MRT station. This is one of the interchanges in a residential estate to not have any feeder services. History Before the opening of Sembawang Bus Interchange, various bus services terminated at scattered parts of Sembawang town. The Bishan Bus Interchange is a bus interchange serving Bishan, Singapore. The interchange commenced passenger service as Bishan Bus Terminal in 1988, with Services 56 and 58. Located at Bishan Street 13, it is designed in a unique squarish configuration with the building wrapping around the bus parking area. The Ministry of Education Language Centre (MOELC) lies across the field to the north. Passengers also able to transfer to the Circle line from an entrance located right outside the interchange. Yishun Bus Interchange is located in northern Singapore, integrated with Northpoint City. The interchange is part of the Yishun Integrated Transport Hub (ITH), which opened on 8 September 2019. Before this interchange, the original bus interchange was in operation from 23 August 1987 to 13 March 2015.
