Pulcinella Variations
''Pulcinella Variations'' is a one-act ballet by Justin Peck, set to Igor Stravinsky's ''Pulcinella Suite'', with costumes designed by Tsumori Chisato. The ballet premiered on September 28, 2017, danced by the New York City Ballet, at the David H. Koch Theater. The choreography of ''Pulcinella Variations'' is more classical then other Peck's works, and the costumes were inspired by commedia dell’arte, which was also Stravinsky's inspiration when he wrote the music. Justin Peck (born September 8, 1987) is an American choreographer, director, and dancer associated with New York City Ballet, of which he was appointed Resident Choreographer in July 2014, being the second person in the history of the institution to hold this title. In 2018 he won the Tony Award for Best Choreography for his work on the third Broadway revival of Rodgers and Hammerstein's '' Carousel''. Indiana Woodward
Indiana Woodward (born ) is a French ballet dancer. She joined the New York City Ballet in 2012, and was promoted to principal dancer in 2021. Early life and training Woodward was born in Paris, to a French filmmaker father and a South African dancer mother, who had worked with choreographer Roland Petit. She lived in Paris until she was three, when her family relocated to Philadelphia. When she was seven, her parents divorced. Woodward, her mother and younger brother moved to Los Angeles, while her father returned to Paris. Woodward's early ballet training was in the Russian ballet style. Gonzalo Garcia (dancer)
Gonzalo Garcia is a Spanish American ballet dancer. He joined the San Francisco Ballet in 1998, and was promoted to principal in 2002, at age 22. In 2007, he left the company and joined the New York City Ballet. He retired from performing in 2022 and remains in the company as a repertory director. Early life Garcia was born in Zaragoza, and trained at Maria de Avila's school. In 1995, he attended a summer intensive at the San Francisco Ballet School, where de Avila's daughter Lola taught. Later that year, he won the Prix de Lausanne at the age of 15, making him the youngest dancer to receive the award. After that, he returned to the San Francisco Ballet School as a full time student. Sterling Hyltin is an American ballet dancer. She is currently a principal dancer at the New York City Ballet. Early life and training Hyltin was born in Amarillo, Texas. She wanted to be an ice skater, and would train before school started. However, Hyltin's mother also enrolled her to ballet classes. When she was 12, she auditioned for School of American Ballet, but was rejected. She was ultimately accepted by SAB's summer program in 2000, and stayed in New York as a full-time student.
