Puerto Rico National Under-20 Football Team
The Puerto Rico national under-20 football team represents Puerto Rico in tournaments at the under-20 level. The team is controlled by the Puerto Rican Football Federation. History Puerto Rico made its first appearance on the 1974 CONCACAF Championship, losing all of their matches. They didn't record a win until 1976 against Barbados. It wasn't until 2012 where they had their most successful campaign under coach Jeaustin Campos where they advance through all of the Caribbean qualification and made it to the CONCACAF Championship in Puebla, México. In 2021, Puerto Rico booked their place on the 2022 CONCACAF U-20 Championship for their second time in history, this time under coach Dave Sarachan after advancing as group leaders defeating Bermuda 6–0 on final matchday. Puerto Rican Football Federation
The Puerto Rican Football Federation ( es, Federación Puertorriqueña de Fútbol) is the governing body of association football in Puerto Rico. It was founded in 1940 and became affiliated to FIFA in 1960, one of the last to do so in the Western Hemisphere. It governs over all football on the island, including the Puerto Rico national football team, the amateur Liga Nacional de Fútbol de Puerto Rico, the scheduled Liga Profesional de Fútbol de Puerto Rico, as well as the Puerto Rico FC who played in the North American Soccer League. History Owing to its unique status in relation to the United States of America, the governance of football on Puerto Rico has been different from the traditional format. 2007 U-20 World Cup CONCACAF Qualifying Tournament
The 2007 CONCACAF U-20 Qualifying Tournament was held to determine the four CONCACAF entrants into the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup, which was hosted by Canada. The tournament final was held in two groups of four with the top two from each group advancing. Group A was held in Panama and Group B was held in Mexico. On January 21, 2007, the United States and Panama qualified to the U-20 World Cup. On February 23, 2007, Mexico and Costa Rica achieved qualification as well. Qualification The following teams qualified for the tournament: Squads Group A Panama hosted Group A. 2005 CONCACAF U-20 Tournament
The 2005 CONCACAF U-20 Qualifying Tournament was held to determine the four CONCACAF entrants into the 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship, which was hosted by the Netherlands. The tournament final was held in two groups of four with the top two from each group advancing. Group A was held in United States and Group B was held in Honduras.
