Pudhalvan
''Pudhalvan'' is a 1997 Tamil-language crime film directed by Selva Vinayagam, who had previously directed the films ''Kottai Vaasal'' (1992) and ''Aranmanai Kaavalan'' (1994). The film stars Ramki and Pragathi, with Vijayakumar, Jayanthi, newcomer Raghavi, Mohan Natarajan, S. N. Vasanth and Raja Raveendar playing supporting roles. The film had musical score by Deva and was released on 26 December 1997. The film was a remake of Telugu film '' Doshi Nirdoshi'' (1990). Plot Siva (Ramki) is an honest police inspector who was brought up by the judge Sathyamoorthy ( Vijayakumar) when his mother died. Sathyamoorthy has two sons: Ramesh (S. N. Vasanth) and Raja (Raja Raveendar). The influential smuggler Mudaliar (Mohan Natarajan) often clashes with Siva and Sathyamoorthy. Siva and the jolly college student Priya (Pragathi) fall in love with each other, later they get married with Sathyamoorthy's blessing. One day, Raja rapes Mudaliar's daughter. Ramki
Ramakrishnan, better known by his stage name Ramki, is an Indian actor best known for his work in Tamil and Telugu films. He made his debut in ''Chinna Poove Mella Pesu'' (1987). He was a lead actor from 1987 to 2004. Pandu (actor)
Pandu (19 February 1947 – 6 May 2021) was an Indian Tamil actor and graphic designer who appeared in many comedy roles in Tamil cinema. He made his acting debut in the film ''Maanavan'' (1970). A Doctor of Philosophy graduate in arts from France, he was also a visual artist who founded Capital Letters, a graphic designing company. He most notably designed the party symbol and logo of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam. His brother Idichapuli Selvaraj had also previously appeared in films as a comedian. Halwa Vasu
Vasu, popularly known as Halwa Vasu, (died 17 August 2017) was a comedian in the Tamil film industry in India. He worked in around 900 films. Career Vasu who hailed from Madurai district, came to Chennai to work in cinemas after his graduation. Vasu worked as an assistant to director-actor Manivannan, he carved a niche for himself in comedy films and has also acted alongside the likes of Vadivelu. Meesai Murugesan (13 January 1930 - 8 November 2014) was a veteran actor and musician who appeared in Tamil films. He starred in more than 100 films and has done supporting roles in various films. Vairamuthu Ramasamy (born 13 July 1953) is an Indian lyricist, poet, and novelist working in the Tamil film industry. He is a prominent figure in the Tamil literary world. A master's graduate from the Pachaiyappa's College in Chennai, he first worked as a translator, while also being a published poet.
