Psalms
The Book of Psalms ( or ; he, תְּהִלִּים, , lit. "praises"), also known as the Psalms, or the Psalter, is the first book of the ("Writings"), the third section of the Tanakh, and a book of the Old Testament. The title is derived from the Greek translation, (), meaning "instrumental music" and, by extension, "the words accompanying the music". The book is an anthology of individual Hebrew religious hymns, with 150 in the Jewish and Western Christian tradition and more in the Eastern Christian churches. Many are linked to the name of David, but modern mainstream scholarship rejects his authorship, instead attributing the composition of the psalms to various authors writing between the 9th and 5th centuries BC. In the Quran, the Arabic word ‘Zabur’ is used for the Psalms of David in the Hebrew Bible. Structure Benedictions The Book of Psalms is divided into five sections, each closing with a doxology (i.e., a benediction). These divisions were probably intro ...

Swiss Psalm
The "Swiss Psalm" (german: Schweizerpsalm, italic=no / "Trittst im Morgenrot daher..."; french: Cantique suisse, italic=no, ; it, Salmo svizzero, italic=no, ; rm, Psalm Svizzer, italic=no, ) is the national anthem of Switzerland. It was composed in 1841, by Alberich Zwyssig (1808–1854). Since then, it has been frequently sung at patriotic events. The Federal Council declined, however, on numerous occasions to accept the psalm as the official anthem. This was because the council wanted the people to express their say on what they wanted as a national anthem. From 1961 to 1981, it provisionally replaced "" ("When You Call, My Country"; French ""; Italian "", Romansh ""), the anthem by Johann Rudolf Wyss (1743–1818) that was set to the melody of "God Save the King". On 1 April 1981, the Swiss Psalm was declared the official Swiss national anthem. In 2014, the organized a public competition and unofficial vote to change the lyrics of the national anthem. Psalm (Paul Motian Album)
''Psalm'' is the fifth album by Paul Motian to be released on the ECM label. It was released in 1982 and features the first recordings by Motian with guitarist Bill Frisell, tenor saxophonist Joe Lovano, alto saxophonist Billy Drewes and bassist Ed Schuller. Reception The Allmusic review by Scott Yanow awarded the album 4½ stars, stating: "The eight compositions by drummer Paul Motian on this ECM release (which is available on CD) are rather dry and none caught on as future standards. But the playing by Motian's sidemen (tenors Joe Lovano and Billy Drewes, bassist Ed Schuller and especially the remarkable guitarist Bill Frisell) uplifted the music and gave this group a strong personality of its own. Although the results are not all that memorable, the music should please adventurous listeners. Psalms (Lorna Shore Album)
''Psalms'' is the debut studio album by American deathcore band Lorna Shore. It was released on June 9, 2015 through Density Records, their only album with the label, and was produced by Will Putney. Critical reception The album received mostly positive reviews from critics. ''KillYourStereo'' rated the album 3 out of 5 and said: "It would be going too far to say that Lorna Shore's ''Psalms'' is a bad album. All the successful elements of a deathcore album are there and they're executed skillfully. Unfortunately, the abundance of breakdowns that pop up literally stop the album in its tracks. With material from Aversions Crown and Black Tongue managing to showcase new elements in the genre, it's a shame that Lorna Shore fail to bring anything fresh to the table." ''New Noise'' gave the album a positive review but stated: "That's how most of these tracks feel. If you took out the breakdowns, or at least minimized their lengths, you would be left with one of, if not the best, deathc ...
