The Protected areas of Portugal ( pt, Áreas protegidas de Portugal) are classified under a legal protection statute that allows for the adequate protection and maintenance of biodiversity, while providing services for ecosystem that maintains the natural and geological patrimony. History Protected areas are regulated by Decree-Law 142/2008 (24 July 2008), and can be classified by the national authority, or even by public or private institutions. The applicant is analyzed by the ''Instituto da Conservação da Natureza e das Florestas'' (''Nature and Forest Conservancy Institute''), while regional or local classifications can be completed by municipalities or groups of municipalities, under terms of Article 15. Reserva Natural Do Paul Do Boquilobo
Boquilobo Bog Nature Reserve is a marshland and nature reserve located near Golegã, central Portugal. It is a UNESCO biosphere reserve since 1981 and a Ramsar wetland since 1996. Due to its inland position, the wetland is dependent on the Tagus basin, along with one of its tributaries, the Almonda. As expected, the nature reserve is dominated by plant species associated with humid environments such as the lakeshore bulrush, the southern cattail or Juncus. In the arboreal layer, in temporarily flooded areas, willow groves dominate, especially white willow, which form small islands of vegetation and even dense thickets. The Berlengas are a Portuguese archipelago consisting of small Atlantic islands off the coast of Peniche, Portugal, in the Oeste region.
