Prong Discography
Prong is an American heavy metal band formed in 1986. The band was originally composed of founder Tommy Victor (vocals, guitar), along with Mike Kirkland (bass) and ex- Swans drummer Ted Parsons. Their first two studio releases, the EP '' Primitive Origins'' (1987) and debut studio album '' Force Fed'' (1989), were released independently and directed more towards the hardcore punk. The trio signed with Epic Records, and their first major label release, 1990's ''Beg to Differ'', was a minor success, and received regular exposure on MTV's ''Headbangers Ball''. Former Flotsam and Jetsam bassist Troy Gregory replaced Kirkland for 1991's ''Prove You Wrong''. Gregory was soon replaced by ex-Killing Joke bassist Paul Raven, plus keyboardist John Bechdel (ex- Murder Inc.) for 1994's '' Cleansing''. Prong is an American heavy metal band formed in New York City in 1986. The band is fronted by guitarist/vocalist Tommy Victor, Prong's sole constant member. To date, they have released 12 studio albums (including a covers album), one live album, four EPs, one DVD and one remix album. Prong had two independent releases, '' Primitive Origins'' (1987) and ''Force Fed'' (1989), which attracted the attention of Epic Records, who signed the band in 1989. Their first two albums on Epic, ''Beg to Differ'' (1990) and '' Prove You Wrong'' (1991), were released to critical acclaim and garnered attention on MTV's ''Headbangers Ball''. The band's 1994 album ''Cleansing (album), Cleansing'' was also successful, and included one of their well-known songs "Snap Your Fingers, Snap Your Neck". After releasing one more album (''Rude Awakening (Prong album), Rude Awakening'' in 1996), Prong disbanded in 1997, but reformed in 2002 and has continued to tour and record since then. Cleansing (album)
''Cleansing'' is the fourth album by the American heavy metal band Prong, released on January 25, 1994 by Epic Records. It was produced by Terry Date, whereas Prong's previous two albums had been produced by Mark Dodson. The album features ex- Killing Joke members Paul Raven on bass guitar and John Bechdel on keyboards and programming. Featuring an industrial-influenced sound, the record received moderate commercial success. The single "Snap Your Fingers, Snap Your Neck" received a commercial interest; its music video received heavy rotation on MTV and was featured on an episode of '' Beavis and Butt-Head''. As a part of the album's promotion, the band toured with Sepultura and Pantera as an opener for their '' Chaos A.D.'' and ''Far Beyond Driven'' tours, respectively. The record was produced by the band's guitarist/vocalist Tommy Victor and engineer Chris Collier. Songs From The Black Hole (Prong Album)
''Songs from the Black Hole'' is a cover album by American metal band Prong, released on March 31, 2015. According to frontman Tommy Victor, the goal of the cover album was to explore musical roots of the band and "the vast landscape that makes up the band's sound". He stated, it should visualize "the theme of urban decay, desolation, insecurity and ultimate change". The basic tracks were recorded with Peter Funke in Trixx Studios in Berlin, Germany. The album was mixed and mastered by Chris Collier at Mission:Black Studios in Santa Clarita, California, with additional guitars also recorded there. Vocals were recorded by Collier at Lynchbox Studios also in Santa Clarita. Jason Christopher added background vocals on "Give Me the Cure". The cover artwork was created by Mike Lopez. Alain David Jourgensen (born Alejandro Ramírez Casas; October 9, 1958) is a Cuban-American singer, musician and music producer. Closely related with the independent record label Wax Trax! Records, his musical career spans four decades. He is best known as the frontman and lyricist of the industrial metal band Ministry, which he founded in 1981 and of which he remains the only constant member. He was the primary musician of several Ministry-related projects, such as Revolting Cocks, Lard, and Buck Satan and the 666 Shooters. He (Jourgensen) is regarded as one of the most prominent figures of industrial music, influencing numerous other groups and musicians, both in alternative and industrial-associated acts.
