''Promesa'' is the second Spanish-language album released by Christian rock band Guardian (band), Guardian. The album was released on August 6, 1998 and included Spanish covers of several of the songs from ''Buzz (Guardian album), Buzz'' and ''Bottle Rocket''. The album followed the massive success the band had in Latin America with their first Spanish release, ''Nunca te diré adiós''. Guardian is an American Christian hard rock and metal band. The band has released seven studio albums, three additional albums in Spanish, and toured extensively worldwide. There are also numerous compilations, independent releases, live records and bootlegs available. History The early years The band was founded in 1982 under the name ''Fusion'', by bassist David Bach and singer, songwriter and guitarist Paul Cawley. The original band lineup included drummer Steve Martinez and guitarist Gene Thurston. The group stood out in the burgeoning Los Angeles metal music scene due to their unconventional futuristic body-armor stage outfits, whose concept Cawley derived from the biblical passage in Ephesians 6 regarding "putting on the full armor of God". Member changes in 1984 included drummer Rikk Hart and guitarist, James Isham. Word Records is a Christian faith-based entertainment company based in Nashville, Tennessee. It is owned by Curb Records, and is a part of Word Entertainment. It is distributed by Warner Records (the former Warner Bros. Records). ''Buzz'' is one of the albums from Christian rock band Guardian. The album was released in October 1995 and was produced by Steve Taylor. The album takes the band into the realms of alternative music and grunge common of the 90s. Guardian opened for Taylor in a tour which prompted them to ask him to produce their next album. Taylor was hesitant to do so at first, but then agreed as he became friends of the band. ''Bottle Rocket'' is a 1996 American crime comedy film directed by Wes Anderson in his feature film directorial debut. The film is written by Anderson and Owen Wilson and is based on Anderson's 1994 short film of the same name. Jamie Rowe
Jamie Rowe (born April 7, 1970 as Earl Wilson Rowe, Jr.) is a musician best known as the lead vocalist of the Christian hard rock band, Guardian. He has also been vocalist for New York-based AdrianGale, power pop band, London Calling (which briefly became The Ruled) and most recently collaborating with Jamey Perrenot in The Lost Days of Summer.
