"Professional Widow" is a 1996 song written by American singer-songwriter Tori Amos. It is a harpsichord-driven rock song and was included on her third album, '' Boys for Pele'' (1996). "Professional Widow" was released on July 2, 1996, as the third single from the ''Boys for Pele'' album in the US, containing remixes by the house music producers Armand van Helden and MK. The single reached number one on the US ''Billboard'' Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart. In Italy, the original version peaked at number two in October 1996. An edited version of the Armand's Star Trunk Funkin' Mix of "Professional Widow" was originally released as a double A-side single with "Hey Jupiter" in Europe and Australia. On December 30, 1996, the single was released as an A-side in the United Kingdom as "Professional Widow (It's Got to Be Big)", which topped the UK Singles Chart in January 1997 and reached the top 20 in Finland, Iceland, Ireland and Norway. Tori Amos
Tori Amos (born Myra Ellen Amos; August 22, 1963) is an American singer-songwriter and pianist. She is a classically trained musician with a mezzo-soprano vocal range. Having already begun composing instrumental pieces on piano, Amos won a full scholarship to the Peabody Institute at Johns Hopkins University at the age of five, the youngest person ever to have been admitted. She had to leave at the age of eleven when her scholarship was discontinued for what ''Rolling Stone'' described as "musical insubordination". Amos was the lead singer of the short-lived 1980s Pop music, pop group Y Kant Tori Read before achieving her breakthrough as a solo artist in the early 1990s. Lady Macbeth
Lady Macbeth is a leading character in William Shakespeare's tragedy '' Macbeth'' (). As the wife of the play's tragic hero, Macbeth (a Scottish nobleman), Lady Macbeth goads her husband into committing regicide, after which she becomes queen of Scotland. Matthew Chamberlain (born April 17, 1967) is an American session musician, drummer, producer and songwriter. Biography Life and career Chamberlain was born in San Pedro, California on April 17, 1967. He began learning how to play the drums at 15 years old, taking lessons with David Garibaldi from the band Tower of Power. He attended North Texas State's music program, leaving after less than a year. After leaving college, he moved to Dallas, Texas and played with multiple bands, often taking on small gigs. While in Texas, he was hired to play drums on tour with Edie Brickell & New Bohemians, and he recorded two records with the band before they broke up in 1991. At the time of hiring, Chamberlain was living next door to their bass player, Brad Houser. ''Welcome to Sunny Florida'' is the name of a DVD and CD set released by singer-songwriter Tori Amos in 2004. The set features a live concert performance by Amos from her 2002 " On Scarlet's Walk" tour, in support of her album Scarlet's Walk. It was recorded live at Sound Advice Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach, Florida. The DVD also features photographs and other exclusive material including a full-length interview with Amos. The title is a sarcastic reference to the fact that on September 4, 2003 (the day of filming) there was a rainstorm. Accompanying the DVD is an EP called '' Scarlet's Hidden Treasures'', which features six non-LP tracks. The DVD/CD was released in either a double CD jewel case, or in a special DVD case. Kenny "Dope" Gonzalez (born July 5, 1970), also sometimes known as K-Dope, is an American record producer and disc jockey. He is one half of the classic house music Masters at Work musical production team with Little Louie Vega; and also released the hit "The Bomb! (These Sounds Fall into My Mind)" as The Bucketheads. He has been referred to as one of the most prolific artists of the modern music age. Biography Gonzalez started his DJ career in 1985 organizing neighborhood block parties in his home of Brooklyn, New York, with his then musical partner, Mike Delgado. Under the Masters at Work moniker, the parties became quite successful and attracted Todd Terry who later borrowed the group's name for two record releases. ''Record Mirror'' was a British weekly music newspaper between 1954 and 1991 for pop fans and record collectors. Launched two years after the ''NME'', it never attained the circulation of its rival.
