Priscilla Negrón (born May 22, 1984) is an Ecuadorian actress. She is known for appearing in successful TV series and telenovelas such as ', ', and ', as well as plays such as ''La última cita''. Biography Priscilla Negrón was born in Guayaquil on May 22, 1984. She studied acting in Buenos Aires and in the United States. Her first television roles were in the Ecuavisa dramas ' and '. She moved into comedic acting in 2006, appearing on the series ''Kliffor'', starring . The following year, she starred in the comedy ''El hombre de la casa'' alongside , Alejandra Paredes, and Azucena Mora. In 2009, she joined Teleamazonas, and was cast in the successful comedy ', playing Señora Negrón, one of the best friends of "La Mofle". This became one of her best-known roles. ''El Universo'' (Spanish for "The Universe") is one of the largest daily newspapers in Ecuador. It was founded in 1921 and the first edition was published September 16 of the same year. Teleamazonas is an Ecuadorian television network that was launched on 22 February 1974. It is one of the major television networks in the country. It was founded by Antonio Granda Centeno and has two feeds: one produced in Quito and broadcast in the rest of the country, and the other one produced in and distributed in Guayaquil. History Teleamazonas began broadcasting on February 22, 1974, as the first network with colour television transmissions in Ecuador. Its headquarters are located in Quito. A telenovela is a type of a television serial drama or soap opera produced primarily in Latin America. The word combines ''tele'' (for "television") and ''novela'' (meaning "novel"). Similar drama genres around the world include '' teleserye'' (Philippines), '' téléroman'' (Canada, specifically Quebec), and ''sinetron'' (Indonesia). Commonly described using the American colloquialism Spanish soap opera, many telenovelas share some stylistic and thematic similarities to the soap opera familiar to the English-speaking world.
