History Pringle was incorporated as a borough on January 17, 1914; it was named in honor of Thomas Pringle. Geography Pringle is located at (41.276081, -75.899530). Pringle, South Dakota
Pringle is a town in Custer County, South Dakota, United States. The population was 109 at the 2020 census. The town is named for W. H. Pringle, a cattleman who lived in the area. Geography Pringle is located at (43.609253, -103.594124). Pringle got its start as a stage stop on the Sidney-Custer Trail. Operated by Henry Pringle, it was called the Point of Rocks Stage Station, named after a prominent and distinct granite outcropping located due east of the current town. The Sidney-Custer Trail was an important route into the southern Black Hills from Nebraska, and The Point of Rocks Station also served traffic between Cheyenne, Wyoming and Custer. A small settlement, also called Point of Rocks, soon developed around the stage station. In 1890, the Chicago, Burlington, and Quincy Railroad track reached the settlement, at which time the town's name was changed to Pringle, named after Anna Carr Pringle, who provided hospitality to the railroad crews when they came through town ... Pringle is an unincorporated community in northern Hutchinson County, Texas, United States. The Pringle-Morse Consolidated Independent School District serves area students. Geography Pringle is at the intersection of State Highway 136 and Farm to Market Road 1598, on the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad nine miles north of Stinnett in northern Hutchinson County. History The community began in 1929 when the Chicago, Rock Island and Gulf Railroad built between Stinnett and Hitchland. The Pringle post office opened in 1929, and a school was organized that year. William H. Pringle, for whom the community is named, donated land for a school building. By 1933, Pringle had three businesses and a population of twenty. The post office closed ''circa'' 1947, and the school was consolidated with the Morse schools in 1977. London Velopark
Lee Valley VeloPark is a cycling centre on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, London, England. It is owned and managed by Lee Valley Regional Park Authority, and it was opened to the public in March 2014. The facility was one of the permanent venues for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Lee Valley VeloPark is at the northern end of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. It has a velodrome and BMX racing track, which have been used for the Games, as well as a one-mile (1.6 km) road course and 5 miles (8 km) of mountain bike trails. The park replaces the Eastway Cycle Circuit demolished to make way for it. The facilities built for the Olympics were constructed between 2009 and 2011. Clan Pringle is a Lowland clan from the Scottish Borders. Origin of the Name According to the detailed book 'The Records of the Pringles', the surname Hoppringill, or Pringle, dates from the reign of Alexander III of Scotland (1249–86) and is one of the oldest names of the Scottish Border region. Pringle is a placename derived from a locale in the Parish of Stow on the right side of Gala Water, about ten miles North of Galashiels. Hoppringle lies about one half mile up from the bank of the river on the Southern slopes of a ridge separating the valleys of the rivers Armet and Todhole (now named Armet Water and Toddle Burn). This ridge, with its level crest, abuts at its Western extremity on the Gala in a remarkably rounded knob some 300 ft above the level of the river, which winds around its base in a semi-circle. The Pringle manoeuvre is a surgical technique used in some abdominal operations and in liver trauma. The hepatoduodenal ligament is clamped either with a surgical tool called a haemostat, an umbilical tape or by hand. This limits blood inflow through the hepatic artery and the portal vein, controlling bleeding from the liver. Uses The Pringle manoeuvre is used during liver surgery and in some cases of severe liver trauma to minimize blood loss. For short durations of use, it is very effective at reducing intraoperative blood loss. The Pringle manoeuvre is applied during closure of a vena cava injury when an atriocaval shunt is placed. Limits The Pringle manoeuvre is more effective in preventing blood loss during liver surgery if central venous pressure is maintained at 5 mmHg or lower. ''Pringle'' was laid down by the Charleston Navy Yard, on 31 July 1941; launched on 2 May 1942, sponsored by Mrs. John D. H. Kane; and commissioned on 15 September 1942. Service history ''Pringle'' was one of the three ''Fletcher''-class destroyers to be built (out of 6 planned) with a catapult for a float plane. The catapult and an aircraft crane were located just aft of the number 2 smokestack, in place of the after torpedo tube mount, 5-inch mount number 3, and the 2nd deck of the after deck house which normally carried a twin 40 mm anti-aircraft gun on most ships of the class.
