Prince Sultan University (PSU) ( ar, جامعة الأمير سلطان), located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia is the first private university founded in Saudi Arabia. It is owned by the Riyadh Philanthropic Society for Sciences, which named it in honor of its first patron, Prince Sultan. Initially, it was founded as Prince Sultan Private College in 1999 and received university status in 2003. Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud (c. 5 January 1928 – 22 October 2011) (Arabic: سلطان بن عبدالعزيز آل سعود ''Sulṭān ibn ʿAbdulʿazīz Āl Suʿūd''), called ''Sultan the Good'' (Arabic: سلطان الخير ''Sulṭan al Khair'') in Saudi Arabia, was the Saudi defense minister from 1963 to 2011 and the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia from 2005 to 2011.
