They were formed by Chino Moreno (vocals, guitar), Stephen Carpenter (guitar), Abe Cunningham (drums), and Dominic Garcia (bass). After the lineup settled in 1993, the band secured a recording contract with Maverick Records, and subsequently released their debut album ''Adrenaline'' in 1995. He was the younger brother of Cain, and the younger son of Adam and Eve, the first couple in Biblical history. He was a shepherd who offered his firstborn flock up to God as an offering.
