The award categories are divided into three classes: the regular Primetime Emmy Awards, the Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards to honor technical and other similar behind-the-scenes achievements, and the Primetime Engineering Emmy Awards for recognizing significant contributions to the engineering and technological aspects of television. Julian Claman
Julian Claman (1918 – April 24, 1969) was an American actor, war correspondent, press agent, stage manager, TV writer/producer, playwright, and novelist. He is well known for producing the TV series ''Have Gun – Will Travel'' (1957). Career Claman wrote the novels ''Aging Boy'' (1964, cited in 2007 by Oscar-winning screenwriter/Pulitzer-winning author Larry McMurtry as a great lost novel) and ''The Malediction'' (1969). His first play ''A Quiet Place'' starred Tyrone Power and was directed by Delbert Mann. Claman wrote for the ''Mister Peepers'' TV series. Personal life Claman was married from 1953 to 1961 to five-time Tony-nominated actress Marian Seldes,Marian Seldes who appeared in two episodes of ''Have Gun – Will Travel'' (1957), the TV series he produced. John Houseman
John Houseman (born Jacques Haussmann; September 22, 1902 – October 31, 1988) was a Romanian-born British-American actor and producer of theatre, film, and television. He became known for his highly publicized collaboration with director Orson Welles from their days in the Federal Theatre Project through to the production of '' Citizen Kane'' and his collaboration, as producer of ''The Blue Dahlia'', with writer Raymond Chandler on the screenplay. He is perhaps best known for his role as Professor Charles W. Kingsfield in the film '' The Paper Chase'' (1973), for which he won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. The series was executive produced by John Houseman, and hosted by '' New York Herald Tribune'' critic John Crosby. Alfredo Antonini served as the musical director for several episodes. Louis M. "Deke" Heyward (born Louis Mortimere Horowitz, June 24, 1920 – March 26, 2002) was an American producer and film and television screenwriter. Life and career Born in New York City to Henry Horowitz and Rose Klein, immigrants from Hungary, Heyward intended to become a lawyer but started writing radio scripts part-time. He attended New York University and Brooklyn Law School. He then served in the United States Army Air Forces for six years. In 1942, he was a lieutenant stationed at Midland Army Flying School in Midland, Texas and was a bombardier instructor. In May 1943, he transferred to the bombardier school at Webb Air Force Base in Big Spring, Texas. After serving in the Army Air Forces, he resumed writing for radio while working at Associated Press. Robert James Banner Jr. (August 15, 1921 – June 15, 2011) was an American producer, writer and director. From 1967 to 1972 he co-produced ''The Carol Burnett Show''. Life and career Banner was a native of Ennis, Texas, and credited his hometown with providing him the opportunity to prepare for his career. In high school he accompanied every singer in town, played in the high school band and was part-time organist in the Presbyterian Church. He credited band director Thomas Granger as the mentor who gave the biggest push to send him on his way. ''The Dinah Shore Chevy Show'' is an American variety series hosted by Dinah Shore, and broadcast on NBC from October 1956 to May 1963. The series was sponsored by the Chevrolet Motor Division of General Motors and its theme song, sung by Shore, was " See the U.S.A. in Your Chevrolet", which continued to be used in Chevrolet advertising for several more years after the cancellation of the show.
