''Pretty. Odd.'' is the second studio album by American pop rock band Panic at the Disco. Recorded at the Studio at the Palms in Paradise, Nevada with additional production at Abbey Road Studios in London with producer Rob Mathes, the album was released March 21, 2008 on Decaydance and Fueled by Ramen. Inspired by baroque pop and the works of the Beatles and the Beach Boys, the psychedelic-styled rock album differs greatly from the techno-influenced pop punk of ''A Fever You Can't Sweat Out'' (2005). To begin work on the record, Panic at the Disco retreated to a cabin in the rural mountains of Mount Charleston, in the group's native state of Nevada. Upon growing dissatisfied with their final product, the band scrapped the entire album and spent time writing and recording ''Pretty. Odd.'' throughout the following winter. Panic! At The Disco
Panic! at the Disco is the solo project of American musician Brendon Urie. It was originally a pop rock band from Las Vegas, Nevada, formed in 2004 by childhood friends Urie, Ryan Ross, Spencer Smith, and Brent Wilson. They recorded their first demos while they were in high school. Shortly after, the band recorded and released their debut studio album, ''A Fever You Can't Sweat Out'' (2005). Popularized by the second single, "I Write Sins Not Tragedies", the album was certified triple platinum in the US. "That Green Gentleman (Things Have Changed)" (often shortened to "That Green Gentleman") is a single by American rock band Panic! at the Disco, from their second studio album '' Pretty. Odd.'' The song was the second song written by the band after they decided to scrap an album's worth of material, but was not played with "When the Day Met the Night" and "Nine in the Afternoon" at the various festivals Panic performed at during the summer of 2007. The title of the album was already decided before the line, "Things are shaping up to be pretty odd" was written. The song was performed (as well as "She's a Handsome Woman", and "Mad as Rabbits") on every date of the European tour prior to the album's release. Ryan Ross
George Ryan Ross III (born August 30, 1986) is an American musician, singer, and songwriter best known for his work as the lead guitarist and primary songwriter of the band Panic! at the Disco before his departure in 2009. Ross and former Panic! bassist Jon Walker formed The Young Veins the same year, in which Ross was the lead vocalist. They broke up in 2010. Jon Walker
Jonathan Jacob Walker (born September 17, 1985) is an American musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer. Formerly the bassist of Panic! at the Disco, Walker was also the lead guitarist and occasional split vocalist of The Young Veins (which he founded with Panic! at the Disco's former lead guitarist and songwriter Ryan Ross), which is now on indefinite hiatus. Having gone on to release several solo recordings, he is now mostly songwriting and producing. Musical career Walker attended Bartlett High School in Bartlett, Illinois and first became known in the Chicago scene in 2003 when he was just 17 years old as the replacement bass player for 504 Plan. The Beach Boys
The Beach Boys are an American Rock music, rock band that formed in Hawthorne, California, in 1961.
