Presteigne St. Andrews Football Club are a Welsh football club from Presteigne, Powys, who play in the Central Wales League Southern Division, which is at the fourth tier of the Welsh football pyramid. The club's home colours are red and black striped shirts with black shorts and socks. History The club was formed in 1897, established by the Reverend Kewley, Curate of St Andrews Parish Church, hence the name of the club. The club played in the North Herefordshire League during the early stages of the 20th century and were crowned champions of this cross-border competition at the conclusion of the 1911–12 season. They withdrew from the league during the following term but then re-appeared for the 1913–14 campaign. They spent a brief spell in the Herefordshire League during the early 1920s, before returning to the North Herefordshire League in 1924–25. Presteigne
Presteigne (; cy, Llanandras: the church of St. Andrew) is a town and community in Radnorshire, Powys, Wales on the south bank of the River Lugg. Formerly the county town of the historic county of Radnorshire, the town has, in common with several other towns close to the Wales-England border, assumed the motto, "''Gateway to Wales''". The border wraps around three sides of the town (north, east and south). Nearby towns are Kington, Herefordshire to the south and Knighton to the north, and surrounding villages include Norton (within the community) and Stapleton. The Cymru Alliance League (known for sponsorship reasons as Huws Gray Alliance) was a football league in north and central Wales which formed the second level of the Welsh football league system. From the 2019/20 season onwards, it was replaced by the Cymru North. Mid Wales South League
The Mid Wales South League is an association football league, currently consisting of five clubs, mainly from Mid Wales but some from just over the border in England. It is currently called the ''Watson Financial Mid Wales League (South)'' for sponsorship reasons. The founder members of the league were Brecon St John's, Felindre, Llandrindod Wells, Llanwrthwl, Llanwrtyd, Presteigne St. Andrew's, Rhayader Town and Whitton.
