Presing
Presing is a Serbian alternative rock band from Belgrade. Formed in 1990 and named after pressure defense in basketball (and some other team sports), Presing were, together with Darkwood Dub and Kanda, Kodža i Nebojša, representatives of the so-called ''NeoBeo'' sound, alternative, guitar-based rock music produced in Belgrade in early 1990s. New York Press wrote about Presing: "It's a sound that kicks the pants off the recycle-rock of The Strokes, The Vines and the White Stripes, just to name a few... You can hear bits of the melodic era of The Fall (''This Nation's Saving Grace'' through '' Frenz Experiment''), some Nick Cave, some Neil Young–and even some P-Funk via Kraftwerk". Kazna Za Uši ( sr-cyr, Казна За Уши; trans. ''Ear Punishment'') is a Serbian garage rock band from Belgrade. History Band formation, first releases (1986–1991) The band was formed in Autumn 1986 by lead guitarist and vocalist Ivan Đorđević "Ivek", having their first live appearance during the same year. Four years after, during the Autumn of 1990, the band's first recordings were released on the Nova Aleksandrija various artists compilation ''Želim jahati do ekstaze'', featuring two of the band's songs, "Teleći pogled" ("Calf-like look") and "Nune Papa", along with the songs by newly formed acts such as Darkwood Dub, Euforia, Presing and Klajberi. Darkwood Dub
Darkwood Dub was a Serbian alternative rock band formed in Belgrade in 1988. In the years after the formation the band gradually grew to prominence on the Serbian rock scene, eventually becoming one of the most notable acts of the 1990s and 2000s Serbian and regional scene. Their music spawned many different genres. It was characterized by a mixture of live drumming and electronic percussion with frequent use of slide guitar, synthesizers and samplers and succinct and introspective lyrics, sung with offbeat vocals of Dejan Vučetić. The band cooperated with a number of musicians—most notably prominent jazz musicians Vasil Hadžimanov and Bisera Veletanlić—and composed scores for several films and theatre plays. Plejboj ( sr-cyr, Плејбој; transliteration for ''Playboy'') is a Serbian rock band from Belgrade. History Formation, rise to prominence (1992-1993) The band was formed in 1992 by former Euforija and Presing members, bassist Roman Goršek, guitarist Igor Petrović and drummer Miladin Radivojević. They were soon joined by saxophonist Dušan Petrović, a former Duh Nibor and Deca Loših Muzičara member. Sunshine (Serbian Band)
Sunshine are a Serbian rapcore/ hip hop band from Belgrade. History 1990s The band was formed in 1993 by the vocalist Branko Bojović "Bane", also known as Gumbrowski, who, having previously worked in the Novi Beograd band Green Cool Posse, formed Sunshine with vocalist Đorđe Radivojević, also known as Đole Ramirez. Recording several demo recordings in the early 1980s and being directly influenced by rap music, while spending two years living in the United States during the late 1980s, Bojović decided to present his own interpretation of the genre. Kanda, Kodža i Nebojša ( sr-cyr, Канда, Коџа и Небојша; , trans. ''Probably, Plenty and Daredevil'') is a Serbian alternative rock band from Belgrade. History Formation, first releases (1991–1995) The band, consisting of Nektarijević (vocals), Rastko Lupulović (guitar), Vladislav Rac (bass guitar), and Stevan Dimitrijević ( drums), was formed in 1991. They were soon joined by Marko Petronijević (trumpet). E-Play
E-Play are a Serbian alternative rock band from Belgrade. History The band was formed in 1997, initially having several lineup changes before the lineup consisting of Biljana Todorovski (guitar, vocals), Maja Cvetković (bass guitar, vocals) and Jarboli member Nemanja Aćimović (drums) became the default one. The band also had a semi-official band member Sonja Lončar who played an analogue synthesizer until permanently leaving the band in 2002. With a unique musical style influenced by a diverse range of genres, and having a majority of female band members, E-Play quickly got the public's attention, establishing themselves on the Serbian alternative rock scene. As the winners of the 2000 Urban Demo festival, the band got the opportunity to release their eponymous debut album, produced by Goran Živković. Lira Vega ( sr-Cyrl, Лира Вега; transl. ''Lyra Vega'') is a Serbian alternative rock band formed in Belgrade in 1998. Originally formed as a part of the theatrical troupe Pozorište Šešira (''The Hat Theatre''), the band initially performed under the Pozorište Šešira moniker. The Strokes
The Strokes are an American rock band from New York City. Formed in 1998, the band is composed of lead singer and songwriter Julian Casablancas, guitarists Nick Valensi and Albert Hammond Jr., bassist Nikolai Fraiture, and drummer Fabrizio Moretti. They were a leading group of the early-2000s indie rock revival. The release of their EP '' The Modern Age'' in early 2001 sparked a bidding war among major labels, with the band eventually signing to RCA Records. That summer, they released their debut album, ''Is This It'', to critical acclaim and strong sales. It has since appeared on numerous "best album" lists. New York Press
''New York Press'' was a free alternative weekly in New York City, which was published from 1988 to 2011. The ''Press'' strove to create a rivalry with the ''Village Voice''. ''Press'' editors claimed to have tried to hire away writer Nat Hentoff from the ''Voice''. Liz Trotta of ''The Washington Post'' compared the rivalry to a similar sniping between certain publications in the eighteenth-century British press, such as the ''Analytical Review'' and its self-styled nemesis, the '' Anti-Jacobin Review''. The founder, Russ Smith, was a conservative who wrote a long column called "Mugger" in every issue, but did not promote just a right-wing viewpoint in the publication. The Vines (band)
The Vines are an Australian Rock music, rock band formed in Sydney in 1994. Their sound has been described as a musical hybrid of 1960s garage rock and 1990s alternative rock. The band has been through several line-up changes, with vocalist/guitarist Craig Nicholls serving as the sole constant throughout the band's history. The Vines' success in the Australian recording industry resulted in winning the ARIA Award for Breakthrough Artist – Single for "Get Free (The Vines song), Get Free" and receiving five other nominations for their debut album ''Highly Evolved'', plus two further nominations in subsequent years. Basketball

Full-court Press
A full-court press is a basketball term for a defensive style in which the defense applies pressure to the offensive team the entire length of the court before and after the inbound pass. Pressure may be applied man-to-man, or via a zone press using a zone defense. Some presses attempt to deny the initial inbounds pass and trap ball handlers either in the backcourt or at midcourt. Defenses not employing a full-court press generally allow the offensive team to get halfway down the court (a half-court press) or near the basket before applying strong defensive pressure. Gameplay A full-court press takes a great deal of effort, but can be an effective tactic.
