Premià De Mar Textile Printing Museum
The Premià de Mar Printing Museum ( ca, Museu Municipal de l'Estampació de Premià de Mar), located in the old gas factory of the town, is a museum dedicated to explaining the history of textile printing in Premià de Mar and all of Catalonia. It is part of Science and Technology Museum of Catalonia and the Barcelona Provincial Council Local Museum Network. Its main objective is to expose samples and objects related to textile printing and to explain the techniques used over time, as well as to highlight the important role that this economic activity has played in the past as a driver of industrialisation in Catalonia. Premià De Mar
Premià de Mar () is a municipality in the ''comarca'' of the Maresme in Catalonia, Spain. It is situated on the coast between El Masnou and Vilassar de Mar, to the north-east of Barcelona. The town is both a tourist centre and a dormitory town for Barcelona. Textile Printing
Textile printing is the process of applying color to fabric in definite patterns or designs. In properly printed fabrics the colour is bonded with the fibre, so as to resist washing and friction. Textile printing is related to dyeing but in dyeing properly the whole fabric is uniformly covered with one colour, whereas in printing one or more colours are applied to it in certain parts only, and in sharply defined patterns. In printing, wooden blocks, stencils, engraved plates, rollers, or silkscreens can be used to place colours on the fabric. Neoclassical architecture is an architectural style produced by the Neoclassical movement that began in the mid-18th century in Italy and France. It became one of the most prominent architectural styles in the Western world. Maresme () is a ''comarca'' (county) located along the Catalan Mediterranean coast in Spain, between the ''comarques'' of Barcelonès (at the Southwest) and Selva (at the Northeast), and also bordering with Vallès Oriental (at the west).
