The Seychelles Basketball League (SBL) is the premier basketball league for clubs in Seychelles. The league consist out of ten teams (in 2022). Basketball Africa League
The Basketball Africa League (BAL) is Africa's premier men's basketball league. The league consists of twelve teams, each qualified through their domestic competition, similar to the format of the UEFA Champions League. The league is a joint effort between the National Basketball Association (NBA) and International Basketball Federation (FIBA) with sponsorship from Nike, Inc., Nike, Air Jordan and Pepsi. Its 2021 BAL season, inaugural season started with the qualifying rounds in October 2019 and the regular season in May 2021. The competition replaces FIBA's Africa Basketball League as the continent's top-tier league. BAL president, Amadou Gallo Fall, announced at the 2020 NBA All-Star Game Africa Luncheon in Chicago, that the season will tip off on 13 March. Beau Vallon Heat is a basketball club based in Beau Vallon, Seychelles. The team plays in the Seychelles Basketball League (SBL). In 2020, the Heat made its debut in the first year of qualifying rounds of the Basketball Africa League (BAL). They made their second appearance in 2023. Eurobasket
EuroBasket, also commonly referred to as the European Basketball Championship, is the main international basketball competition that is contested quadrennially, by the senior men's national teams that are governed by FIBA Europe, which is the European zone within the International Basketball Federation. The competition was first held in 1935. The former Soviet Union holds the record for most gold medals with a total of 14. The tournament is generally held in August or September, in the offseason of major club competitions. The current defending champion is Spain, who won the 2022 title.
