Preben Munthe
Preben Hempel Munthe (15 October 1922 – 3 January 2013) was a Norwegian economist. He was born in Aker, the son of librarian Wilhelm Munthe (1883–1965) and his wife Jenny Hempel (1882–1975). Gerhard Munthe was his elder brother. The younger Munthe finished his secondary education in 1941, and graduated from the University of Oslo with the cand.oecon. degree five years later. He was employed as a research fellow at the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration in the following year, and was promoted to docent in 1956. He took his doctorate in 1961, and was a professor at the University of Oslo from 1961 to 1992. Parallel to this he served as the State Conciliator of Norway from 1965 to 1974. Norwegians
Norwegians ( no, nordmenn) are a North Germanic ethnic group and nation native to Norway, where they form the vast majority of the population. They share a common culture and speak the Norwegian language. Norwegians are descended from the Norse of the Early Middle Ages who formed a unified Kingdom of Norway in the 9th century. During the Viking Age, Norwegians and other Norse peoples conquered, settled and ruled parts of the British Isles, the Faroe Islands, Iceland and Greenland. Johan Berthin Holte
Johan Berthin Holte (19 February 1915 – 1 April 2002) was a Norwegian businessperson. He was born in Notodden as a son of chief administrative officer Peder Olaus Holte (1875–1943) and Lorentze Indorff (1890–19). In 1944 he married artist Eva Vibeke Bull (1922–1991). He graduated with a degree in chemistry from the Norwegian Institute of Technology in 1938. He was hired by Norsk Hydro in 1948 as head of their Notodden department. He advanced to become director of research from 1957 to 1964 and assisting director-general from 1964 to 1966. In 1967 he was hired as director-general (CEO). He stayed in this position until 1977; after this he was chairman of the board from 1977 to 1985. Erik Anker
Erik Anker (15 October 1903 – 15 August 1994) was a Norway, Norwegian yacht racing, sailor and businessperson. Early life and Olympics He was born in Berg, Østfold as a son of Johan Anker. He was a brother of Christian August Anker (1896–1982), Christian August Anker, and a stepson of Nini Roll Anker. He was married to Swedish citizen Eva Esther Laurell. In sailing he represented the Royal Norwegian Yacht Club. At the 1928 Summer Olympics he won the gold medal as crew member of the Norwegian boat ''Norna'' in the 6 metre class event. Thoralf Evje
Thoralf Johannes Irgens Evje (8 December 1902 – 4 September 1976) was a Norwegian judge, civil servant and politician for the Labour Party. He was born in Vestre Aker to priest Hans Odén Evje and Anna Sofie Elle, finished his secondary education in 1922 and graduated as cand.jur. in 1926. He served as State Conciliator of Norway from 1954 to 1964. From 1965 to 1970 he was appointed stipendiary magistrate of Oslo. His published works include (jointly with Paal Berg) ''Kommentar til Arbeidstvistloven'' and ''Tjenestetvistloven''. During the German occupation of Norway, Evje was incarcerated by the occupants, at Bredtvedt, Møllergata 19 and Grini, and sent to the Sachsenhausen concentration camp in July 1943. After six years in Notodden Evje settled in Bærum in 1935 and represented the Labour Party in Bærum School Board from 1939 to 1954 and Bærum municipal council from 1946 to 1952.
