Praga R1R
The Praga R1R is a mid-engined sports car produced by Praga. The R1R represents the first road car made by Praga in 68 years. Because of the 68-year long term hiatus, Praga decided to only make 68 units of the car. The car is based on the Praga R1, a race car by Praga that races in the Dutch Supercar Challenge and Britcar sports car racing. Specifications The car is powered by a Renault Sport-sourced 2.0-liter F4R turbocharged inline-four, which produces , the power being dependent on the customer's setup. The power is delivered to the rear wheels by a Hewland-built 6-speed semi-automatic transmission, and also making the R1R rear-wheel drive. The transmission also uses a centrifugal clutch. The car has a tendency to backfire constantly when making up-shifts and downshifts. The car has a measurement in curb weight, making the car extremely lightweight, thanks to the use of carbon fiber. Praga is a manufacturing company based in Prague, Czech Republic. The company produced automobiles, karts and planes. The Praga V3S 5-ton truck was used by the Czechoslovak Army for more than half a century. History Praga was founded in 1907 to build motor cars as a venture between entrepreneur František Ringhoffer and the company ''1. českomoravská továrna na stroje'' ("First Bohemian-Moravian Machine Works", later a founding part of the ČKD factories). In automotive engineering, a mid-engine layout describes the placement of an automobile engine in front of the rear-wheel axles, but behind the front axle. The Circuito Ascari resort is a private motorsports club for automotive enthusiasts and manufacturers with a long motor racing circuit near Ronda, a city in the Spanish Province of Málaga. Freeskiing, or new school skiing, is a specific type of alpine skiing, which involves tricks, jumps, and terrain park features, such as rails, boxes, jibs, or other obstacles. Jon Anders Olsson Delér (born 17 August 1982) is a professional freeskier and alpine ski racer from Sweden. Born in Mora, Olsson Delér started his career as a ski racer but at age 16 he switched his race skis for twin tips and quit ski racing. Eight years later, after a 50 000 SEK (US$5826.22) bet with fellow skier Jens Byggmark, Olsson Delér started ski racing again with the goal of the bets being to make it to the Olympics in 2014. Turbocharger
In an internal combustion engine, a turbocharger (often called a turbo) is a forced induction device that is powered by the flow of exhaust gases. It uses this energy to compress the intake gas, forcing more air into the engine in order to produce more power for a given displacement.
The current categorisation is that a turbocharger is powered by the kinetic energy of the exhaust gasses, whereas a supercharger is mechanically powered (usually by a belt from the engine's crankshaft).
