Powlett Milbank
Sir Powlett Charles John Milbank, 2nd Baronet (1 May 1852 – 30 January 1918), was a British Conservative Member of Parliament. Milbank Baronets
The Milbank Baronetcy, of Well in the County of York, and of Hart in the County of Durham, is a title in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom. It was created on 16 May 1882 for Frederick Milbank, member of parliament for the North Riding of Yorkshire and for Richmond. The second Baronet represented Radnorshire in the House of Commons as a Conservative. The fourth Baronet was Master of the Household between 1954 and 1967. The fifth Baronet focused on estate management and won awards for game conservancy. Barningham Park country house and estate has been home to the Milbank family since 1690. A baronet ( or ; abbreviated Bart or Bt) or the female equivalent, a baronetess (, , or ; abbreviation Btss), is the holder of a baronetcy, a hereditary title awarded by the British Crown. The title of baronet is mentioned as early as the 14th century, however in its current usage was created by James I of England in 1611 as a means of raising funds for the crown. A baronetcy is the only British hereditary honour that is not a peerage, with the exception of the Anglo-Irish Black Knights, White Knights, and Green Knights (of whom only the Green Knights are extant). Sir Frederick Acclom Milbank, 1st Baronet (21 April 1820 – 28 April 1898), was a British Liberal Member of Parliament. Career Milbank was elected to the House of Commons for the North Riding of Yorkshire in 1865, a seat he held until 1885, and then represented Richmond until 1886. On 16 May 1882 he was created a Baronet, of Well in the County of York, and of Hart in the County of Durham. Milbank died in April 1898, aged 78. Arthur Henry John Walsh, 3rd Baron Ormathwaite (10 April 1859 – 13 March 1937) was a British Army officer, politician, peer and courtier. Walsh was the eldest son of the 2nd Baron Ormathwaite and his wife, Katherine, a daughter of the 7th Duke of Beaufort. He was educated at Eton College. In 1876 he was commissioned a Sub-Lieutenant in the Royal South Wales Borderers Militia, and promoted to lieutenant later the same year. In 1878 he transferred to the Regular Army as a second lieutenant in the 1st Life Guards and was later promoted to lieutenant. In 1887 he left the Regular Army and became a second lieutenant in the Royal East Kent Yeomanry, serving until 1890. In 1885, Walsh entered Parliament as Conservative MP for Radnorshire and held the seat until his defeat by Liberal Francis Edwards in 1892. Arthur Walsh, 2nd Baron Ormathwaite
Arthur Walsh, 2nd Baron Ormathwaite (14 April 1827 – 27 March 1920) was a British Conservative Party politician, the son of John Walsh, 1st Baron Ormathwaite. He was elected as a member of parliament (MP) for Leominster in 1865, resigning in 1868 by becoming Steward of the Manor of Northstead. This allowed him to stand for Radnorshire and replace his father in the by-election that ensued after the latter was elevated to the peerage. Walsh was appointed Lord Lieutenant of Radnorshire in 1875, a post he held until 1895. He succeeded his father in the barony in 1881 and died in 1920.
