Powe House is a historic home located at Durham, Durham County, North Carolina. It was built in 1900, and is a two-story, Neoclassical style frame dwelling with a large hip-roofed core and pedimented wings. Darroll Powe
Darroll Bradley Powe (born June 22, 1985) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player who played six seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Philadelphia Flyers, Minnesota Wild, and New York Rangers. Playing career Powe attended Princeton University and, while earning his degree in sociology, played on its hockey team for four years. He was an alternate captain in his junior year, and captain in his senior year. The Philadelphia Flyers signed the undrafted Powe as a free agent on May 9, 2008, after Powe had played on the Flyers American Hockey League affiliate, the Philadelphia Phantoms, in 2006–07 and 2007–08. Powe made his NHL debut on October 24, 2008, against the New Jersey Devils. After being sent back down to the Phantoms, Powe returned to the Flyers lineup for good in December and played the remainder of the 2008–09 season with the Flyers. Jerrell Quartez Powe (born March 15, 1987) is a former American football nose tackle. He was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He played college football for Ole Miss. High school career Powe attended Wayne County High School in Waynesboro, Mississippi, where he had 71 tackles and 14 sacks as a junior. As a senior, he was credited with 89 tackles, including nine QB sacks, while forcing five fumbles. Powe subsequently earned All-American honors by ''Parade'' and ''USA Today''. Karl Alonzo Powe (born January 17, 1962) is a former American football wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL) for the Dallas Cowboys. He played college football at Alabama State University. Early years Powe attended Mattie T. Blount High School, where he lettered in football, basketball, track and baseball. He accepted a football scholarship from Alabama State University. Although he was considered the fastest player on the team, he spent most of his career as a backup wide receiver, because he chose to compete in track instead of participating in spring football practice. Leon Powe
Leon Powe Jr. (; born January 22, 1984) is an American former professional basketball power forward. Drafted in 2006 by the Denver Nuggets, Powe grew up in Oakland, California, and played college basketball at the University of California, Berkeley. He played his first three years in the NBA with the Boston Celtics and won a championship with the team in 2008. From 2009 to 2011, Powe played for the Cleveland Cavaliers. He also had a stint with the Memphis Grizzlies in 2011. After a stint in Puerto Rico, Powe announced his retirement in 2014 citing multiple injuries and his desire to become a businessman.
