Karl Powe
Karl Alonzo Powe (born January 17, 1962) is a former American football wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL) for the Dallas Cowboys. He played college football at Alabama State University. Early years Powe attended Mattie T. Blount High School, where he lettered in football, basketball, track and baseball. He accepted a football scholarship from Alabama State University. Although he was considered the fastest player on the team, he spent most of his career as a backup wide receiver, because he chose to compete in track instead of participating in spring football practice. He practiced the 100 and 200 metres. As a sophomore in 1982, he led the team in receiving with 16 catches for 319 yards and 2 touchdowns, including a 61-yard touchdown reception and a 53-yard catch. A touchdown (abbreviated as TD) is a scoring play in gridiron football. Whether running, passing, returning a kickoff or punt, or recovering a turnover, a team scores a touchdown by advancing the ball into the opponent's end zone. In American football, a touchdown is worth six points and is followed by an extra point or two-point conversion attempt. The injured reserve list ( IR list) is a designation used in North American professional sports leagues for athletes who suffer injuries and become unable to play. The exact name of the list varies by league; it is known as "injured reserve" in the National Football League (NFL) and National Hockey League (NHL), the "injured list" in the Canadian Football League (CFL), and the injured list (historically known as the "disabled list") in Major League Baseball (MLB). The National Basketball Association (NBA) does not have a direct analog to an injured reserve list, instead using a more general-purpose "inactive list" that does not require a player to be injured. Drew Pearson (born January 12, 1951) is an American former professional American football, football player, who was a wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL) for the Dallas Cowboys. Leroy Anthony Hill Jr. (born June 23, 1956) is an American former professional football player who was a wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL), playing 10 seasons for the Dallas Cowboys. He played college football at Stanford University. Early years Hill was a high school quarterback at Long Beach Polytechnic High School, where he followed in the footsteps of an earlier-day record passer, Gene Washington.
