Poul Nyrup Rasmussen II Cabinet
After the 1994 Danish parliamentary election, the sitting Danish Prime Minister Poul Nyrup Rasmussen was able to form a government coalition of his own Social Democrats, the Danish Social Liberal Party and the Centre Democrats. The resulting cabinet, which replaced the Cabinet of Poul Nyrup Rasmussen I, was formed on 27 September 1994 and was called the Cabinet of Poul Nyrup Rasmussen II. The cabinet was replaced by the Cabinet of Poul Nyrup Rasmussen III on 30 December 1996, after the Centre Democrats left the government coalition in protest against the government negotiating the Budget of 1997 with the Socialist People's Party and the Unity List. Poul Nyrup Rasmussen
Poul Oluf Nyrup Rasmussen (, informally Poul Nyrup, born 15 June 1943) is a retired Danish politician. Rasmussen was Prime Minister of Denmark from 25 January 1993 to 27 November 2001 and President of the Party of European Socialists (PES) from 2004 to 2011. He was the leader of the governing Social Democrats (Denmark), Social Democrats from 1992 to 2002. He was a member of the European Parliament from 2004 to 2009. Rasmussen is a member of the Club of Madrid. In 2007 he published the book ''I grådighedens tid'' (''In a Time of Greed''), which contains harsh criticism of the role hedge fund, hedge and venture capital funds play in the global economy. Svend Auken
Svend Gunnarsen Auken (; 24 May 1943 – 4 August 2009) was a Danish politician. He represented the Social Democrats as a member of the Danish parliament (Folketinget) from 1971 until his death. He was married to journalist and editor Bettina Heltberg from 1966 to 1993. At his death he was married to film director Anne Wivel. He had four children. Margrete Auken is his sister. He died of prostate cancer on 4 August 2009. Political career Auken held a degree in political science from the University of Aarhus and also taught there for a period in the very early 1970s. Bjørn Westh
Bjørn Westh (born 1944) is a Danish politician from the Social Democrats. He held several cabinet posts in the 1980s and 1990s. Early life and education Westh was born in Overlade Parish on 2 February 1944, and his parents are Hans Rømer Westh, a headmaster, and Ingrid Westh, a kindergarten teacher. In 1969 Westh received a degree in land inspection from the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University. During his studies he was close to Liberal Centre, but when the party was closed Westh joined the Social Democrats.
