Postage (album)
''Postage'' was released in 2003 as an in depth synopsis of Supergroove's output. Whilst it is the band's Greatest Hits collection there were a number of songs on the album, predominantly from singles, which had not been previously released on any of the band's earlier albums and EPs. Noticeable inclusions are "Sex Police", "Here Comes The Supergroove" and a new remix by New Zealand Hip Hop producer P-Money. The original 2003 release included a second disc of remixed tracks and live recordings of some of their most well known songs during their mid 1990s peak. This was deleted the following year and replaced with an abbreviated single disc version. When the band reformed in 2007 initially to support Crowded House and then for their own tours in 2008 a third version of the album was released with revised packaging and track listing as well as a new bonus disc, a DVD containing 11 of the band's music videos. Supergroove is a New Zealand funk rock music group. Their debut album ''Traction (album), Traction'' was released in 1994. The group disbanded in 1997 but reformed in 2007. History The band was founded on New Year's Eve 1989/1990, having previously been named the Low-Down Dirty Blues Band. Supergroove's first release was the single ''Here Comes the Supergroove'', which wasn't added to either of their original albums. Supergroove released two albums of original content – ''Traction (album), Traction'', from which four singles were taken, and ''Backspacer (Supergroove album), Backspacer'', which yielded two singles. Between the two they recorded the EP ''Tractor'', and put out an EP of remixes, ''Great Mixes (album), GreatMixes''. Funk rock is a fusion genre that mixes elements of funk and rock. Bertelsmann Music Group (BMG) was a division of a German media company Bertelsmann before its completion of sale of the majority of its assets to Sony Corporation of America on 1 October 2008. ''Backspacer'' was the last studio album by the New Zealand rock band Supergroove. It was released in 1996 by RCA Records RCA Records is an American record label currently owned by Sony Music Entertainment, a subsidiary of Sony Corporation of America. It is one of Sony Music's four flagship labels, alongside RCA's former long-time rival Columbia Records; also A .... Before recording, creative differences saw vocalist Che Ness and trumpeter Tim Stewart fired from the band. "Can't Get Enough" is a 1994 single from New Zealand funk rock band Supergroove. It peaked at number one in the New Zealand singles chart and later charted at 36 in Australia. The song was included on Supergroove's debut album ''Traction (album), Traction''. Awards "Can't Get Enough" was nominated for Single of the Year at the 1995 in New Zealand#New Zealand Music Awards, 1995 New Zealand Music Awards, with the song's video winning Best Video, along with four other wins for the band. In 2001 the song was voted by New Zealand members of APRA as the APRA Top 100 New Zealand Songs of All Time, 99th best New Zealand song of the 20th century.
