''Posh Pop'' is a 2021 studio album by British singer Toyah Willcox, released by Demon Records. Background The album was written by Toyah and her longtime collaborator Simon Darlow who also produced the material. Willcox's husband Robert Fripp performs guitar under the alias Bobby Willcox. The album was recorded during the COVID-19 pandemic and its working title was ''Outside of Culture''. Every song on the album was accompanied by a music video filmed by Toyah herself during the 2021 spring COVID-19 local lockdown regulations in England, lockdown, filmed largely in her Pershore house as well as the nearby Pershore Abbey. Toyah Willcox
Toyah Ann Willcox (born 18 May 1958) is an English musician, actress, and TV presenter. In a career spanning more than 40 years, Willcox has had eight top 40 singles, released over 20 albums, written two books, appeared in over 40 stage plays and 10 feature films, and voiced and presented numerous television shows. Between 1977 and 1983, she fronted the band Toyah, before embarking on a solo career in the mid-1980s. At the 1982 BPI/Brit Awards, Toyah was nominated for British Breakthrough Act, and Best Female Solo Artist. Toyah was nominated a further two times in this category in 1983, and in 1984. Paul Stacey
Paul Stacey (born 27 September 1963) is a British guitarist and producer, best known for his work with Oasis, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds and the Black Crowes. Biography Stacey's early work included the 1990s band, the Lemon Trees (with twin brother Jeremy Stacey on drums, Guy Chambers and others) and Denzil. On 29 September 2006, Stacey was named as the replacement for Marc Ford in the Black Crowes, only a day after Ford faxed the band his resignation and two days before the band's fall tour was set to begin. The Official Albums Chart is a list of albums ranked by physical and digital sales and (from March 2015) audio streaming in the United Kingdom. It was published for the first time on 22 July 1956 and is compiled every week by the Official Charts Company (OCC) on Fridays (previously Sundays). It is broadcast on BBC Radio 1 (top 5) and found on the OCC website as a Top 100 or on UKChartsPlus as a Top 200, with positions continuing until all sales have been tracked in data only available to industry insiders. However, even though number 100 was classed as a hit album (as in the case of The Guinness Book of British Hit Albums) in the 1980s until January 1989, since the compilations were removed this definition was changed to Top 75 with follow-up books such as The Virgin Book of British Hit Albums book only including this data. It first appeared on the band's 1979 LP ''Sheep Farming in Barnet'', and a live version of the song was subsequently released as a single in 1980 by Safari Records to promote the concert album '' Toyah! Toyah! Toyah!''. Background The song was written by Toyah Willcox, Joel Bogen and Peter Bush. It was originally recorded and released in 1979 on Toyah's first album, ''Sheep Farming in Barnet'', produced by Steve James and Keith Hale.
