Reginald Le Borg
Reginald Le Borg (11 December 1902 – 25 March 1989) was an Austrian film director. He was born in Vienna, Austria with the surname Groebel and directed 68 films between 1936 and 1974. Le Borg made a series of low-budget horror films at Universal Studios in the 1940s. In 1944, he made his most expensive and also most successful film, ''San Diego, I Love You'', featuring Buster Keaton in a supporting role. A banker in Vienna, he came to the United States as a visitor in 1928, 1929 and 1930, according to New York steamship passenger manifests. He was recorded as Harry Reginald Groebel. He emigrated permanently in 1931. In his naturalization petition in 1937, he changed his name legally from Harry Groebel to Reginald Le Borg Le Borg died in Los Angeles, California from a myocardial infarction, heart attack. Rudolph Sternad (October 6, 1906 – April 23, 1963) was an American art director and production designer. He was nominated for three Academy Awards in the category Best Art Direction. He was a frequent collaborator of producer-director Stanley Kramer, working with him on virtually all of the films that Kramer directed, and many famous ones that he only produced, such as ''High Noon'', ''Cyrano de Bergerac'', and '' The Men''. Martín Garralaga (10 November 1894 – 12 June 1981) was a Spanish actor who worked in Hollywood from the 1930s through the 1960s. He was married to opera singer and actress Rosa Rey. Biography Garralaga first came to the United States when he sailed from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, to San Juan, Puerto Rico, on the steamship ''Catherine'' in April 1924. He acted in more than two hundred roles in film and television and is probably best known for his portrayal of "Pancho" in the early Cisco Kid films. In 1958, Garralaga was cast as Ramirez in the episode "A Tree for Planting" of the CBS western television series, '' The Texan''. Jay Novello (born Michael Romano, August 22, 1904 – September 2, 1982) was an American radio, film, and television character actor. Early life Novello was born in Chicago to Joseph Romano and Maria (Salemme) Romano. He had three siblings: John, Joseph, and Theresa (later Mrs. Rizzo). Radio career Novello began his 47-year acting career in the 1930s, performing as a character on radio. Robin Hughes (7 June 192010 December 1989) was a British film and television actor. Life and career Robin Hughes was born on 7 June 1920 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, to English parents, Rosa Violet (Pitt) and Harold William Hughes. His father was head of the British Royal Wheat Commission, and Hughes spent his childhood moving from country to country as his father was transferred in government service; consequently, his early schooling was acquired in South America, Canada, Mozambique, East Africa and other places. At the age of 18, he joined the Royal Navy as a signalman and at the end of the Second World War, he left the service as lieutenant commander.
